Default Pro boxing champs (per country) in 2013

Note: This list doesn’t include interim champions or WBA “regular” champions if there is a WBA “super” champion in the same division.

I wouldnt expect anything less from a big nation like USA..

Much credit to small countries like Japan, UK, and Philipines producing quality fighters. That deserves mad props.

Im just embarassed how Korea and Italy aren't making any noise in this fight game.

japan isnt really a small country, ithas a population of 125 million... thats more than double britain has and a lot more than germany ... less than the usa but the usa is a very large country... in my opinion japan underperforms in sports for the size of the country and economy.

Underperforming based on population, India is #1. Billions of people but no pro boxing champ. Though they got 1 good amateur boxer recently. China too, only 1 pro boxing champ.

Whilst that's true you also need to remember that they still haven't fully accepted the IBF and WBO. The JBC might have done but fans certainly haven't

Mexico is the biggest loser this year, from 13 last year to 7 this year. Puerto Rico and Australia too with no champ left this year.

I would say we're in a slump, but I would be guilty of "Understatement of the Year".

It says champs per country. Not champs per commonwealth. So really Puerto Rico shouldn't even be included.

Canada, Australia, South Africa and the Uk are technically part of a commonwealth and last I checked the uk was not a country.

OK.... you can go ahead and be the only one who excludes P.R. from the boxing stats.
The rest of us will continue as usual.

Considering they have no champions they pretty much excluded themselves already
