Boxer Dies in Japan After Being Knocked Out in Pro Debut - Boxing News

A boxer dies after being knocked out on his pro debut by another fighter making his pro debut.

    Tragic to see this.

It will surely have some effect on the other guy as well, can't be easy to have a career in boxing knowing that you've aided in someones death.
    You say tomato,
    ‘n I say …… it correctly.

It's a brutal sport. Hopefully keyboard warriors will think of instances like this next time they decide to call a professional prize fighter a "coward" or "pussy".

It's worth posting the following PDFs for any newer viewers.

    Manuel Velazquez Boxing Fatality Collection.
Has 1865 Boxing fatalities listed up till 2011. It's closing in on 2 thousand men dead from Boxing.

This next file is much larger, and only open if your computer's fast.
Has the names of the dead, type of injury, what rd, if the opponent was charged:

    EDIT:
In the first decade of the New Millennium, 2000 to 2009, 103 men died from Boxing injuries. 103 dead boxers in 10 years.

A lot of fighters seemed to get serious brain injuries in the last 10-12 months , few deaths too.
