Apparently, there is a video of Deontay Wilder being ko'd on the amateurs floating around. Has anyone here seen it or has access to it?
Would like to see that!!!

This would explain why he is taking things very slowly so that he is not exposed like Michael grant was.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
That raises a lot of questions
I dont care what his record looks like , im totally unconvinced so far.
He says he wants the winner of Fury/Chisora.
We should know one way or the other about him soon enough
wilder had very few amateur fights( 31 or 32 or something odd) and he weighed 20 pounds less than he does now , so i dont think it is so shocking he was ko'd as a amateur considering his huge lack of experience and less than his normal size... Be interesting to see if he can stand up to punches in the pro ranks though, we probably won't get to see that untill he gets a world title shot though.
he was ko'd in the us v russia tournament, it is quite easy to find on youtube
Everyone in boxing gets ko'd at least ONCE in their life... some in the am's, some in sparring in the am's, some in the pro's and some in professional sparring.
Make no mistake about it- once you have stepped into the ring, sparring or sanctioned fight, odds are you have been knocked down or all out knocked out- may not be totally unconscious, but you were hit so hard where you could not continue or want to continue.

I'm not some huge fan of Wilder, but he has potential.
This video proves nothing, that was an amateur fight and amateurs are amateurs for a few reasons.
1. They're learning their trade.
2. They're not good enough to turn pro.
3. They have other commitments so do not have time to live the pro life. (Example: Roberto Cammarelle who is a cop)
Does this video say anything about his chin? Not in the slightest.
Watch him in the video, he has no form and he is throwing crazy punches, without any defence.
He has clearly improved since then and taking it slow seems to have been the right thing for him, I mean look what happened to Loma.
All in all I avoid ykdadamaja's threads like I owe them money, but this is a great thread and I praise you for it.
You say tomato,
‘n I say …… it correctly.
Yeah he's a lot thicker now and can absorb those punches better.
David Haye also had him in a bit of trouble in sparring, so who knows how he'll be able to do when he gets in there with REAL opposition who will take his power and give it back to him.

I don't put much stock in amateur KOs David Tua was stopped as an amateur and went on to have one of the best chins around in saying that I do think Wilder is an accident waiting to happen
