I hope paulie does well against porter.
He seems to be fighting better competition that amir khan and if he wins he deserves a shot against floyd!
Paulie is good as a commentator and hopefully he can leave the sport on a win..

He's already one of the best analysis guys in the game. Him and Bernstein are excellent together, I just wish Showtime would get rid of Mauro.
Like Pauli commenting
he is not annoying like HBO guys

Porter is beatable. He's going to go in all Mansour as far as strength early on. But yeh Paulie looks pumped, and amazingly less clownish where active fighter/ blow by blow guys can often at times be embarrassing. It takes a big man to bury a live tv weave fiasco but I think Paulie has pulled it off
I'm a big Paulie fan and have been since the Cotto fight. He's a tough fight for anybody but I just don't know if he has what it takes to be THE guy in a division.
I was amazed how good Paulie looked against Judah. Perhaps he has earned a shot against Floyd but I don't think that would be a good fight. Agreed he is an elite announcer I would love to see him rematch Broner.
I think the commentator/analyst job has been good for Paulie. I'm sure he has gotten a lot of positive feedback on the social media, emails to SHOWTIME, and fans giving him a shoutout wherever he goes.
He acts like he is enjoying boxing more, especially in the ring, these days. Maybe it's just my imagination but he seems more energized about his career.
The Broner fight was close and Judah could not put a serious punch on him.
I think the Porter fight is a good clash of styles but Porter will have too much for Paulie who may make it close enough to give him the opportunity to claim he won. He's excellent as a colour man and you've got to admire what he's done in boxing with feather fists, I loved the fight where he went to Ukraine to beat whoever it was for the title. I thought Tarver was good but Paulie is better.
I love his jabs
Part of me still believes that paulie beat broner.
I'm not sure Paulie ever really wins at the top level of the sport. His plateau is right below. Even if they fought now, Khan would beat him again. Hatton and Cotto beat him fairly too. However, I thought Paulie beat Broner in a tight fight.
Paulie has had a great career for a guy with brittle hands. That's why this fight with Porter is a strange choice. If Porter wins, Paulie's resurgence is over, and I think Porter has a high chance to win. If Paulie was going to take that type of risk, shouldn't he have done it in a better paying fight?
