What, in a top level professional fight?

I would imagine he would be knocked out very quickly or submitted no matter what the code.

But I reckon there'd be a small chance he might be able to disable a great fighter early by striking a vulnerable point on their body.

Yes I often wonder how the film star Bruce Lee would do against a professional fighter.

I never bought into the bruce lee myth myself.. Lol @ the 1 inch punch .. more like 1 inch cock of a chinaman..

Bruce Lee I respect as a martial arts philosopher but I dont fancy his chances in a real fight..

He was an actor.. in a real Martial arts competition ( no hugging and other gay shit ) I put more stock into Jet Li who was taught in Shaolin.... U guys know what kind of sacrafice it takes to be in Shaolin?

Tony Jaa would fuck bruce up too..

Yeah I mean even going by his movies now, Bruce didn't look all that good. Norris used to be able to beat him anyway I heard. And for sure Jaa and Jet seem far better.

Man I have this Italian friend who is a Wing Chun black belt and he always tries to convince me how boxing punching technique is really bad and how it isn't very powerful and how his wing chun punches through the surface.

I try to tell him he throws push punches and arm punches but he wants to have none of it. According to him it's all in the "chi flow" or some shit like that.

They are all a bit delusional sometimes.

This is way, waaaaaaay over the line.

Your trolling's usually pretty funny, but you're gonna take some hits on this one.

What This time I was not even TRYING to put tongue in cheek Bradlee!

What part of that completely inoffensive comment was not well received?

For the record I DO like Bruce Lee's movies from a nostalgic point of view.

His best on screen fight scene in my opinion was with Robert Baker (The Russian Petrov in Fist of Fury). This is his most realistic and action fight scene imo.

It was well done and showcased some snappy fast hitting and combinations but compared with say Tony Jaa's fight scenes in Ong Bak it really wasn't that special you gotta admit!

I get pissed off that they have abandoned the boxing games to focus on UFC.

FNC is up there with my fav games.

I'll tell you one of those martial artists who I think would definitely be a tough bastard. That Bolo Young bloke from Enter the Dragon and Blood Sport. He looks like he'd be able to bust a few bones for real!!

Bruce Lee for sure is the godfather of MMA. As far as how he would do in a fight against a modern UFC fighter, he'd get killed, but that's because a lot of knowledge and training technique has evolved since Bruce's time. Hell a top MMA guy from 10 years ago would get killed by a mid-level MMA guy from today. The game has evolved a lot.

But as far as fighting philosophy, Bruce was the man and a class above all other martial arts stars. Back in Bruce's day, everyone picked a style and trained that same style all their lives, and boasted that their style was best. Bruce Lee said "Fuck your style, stupid. Take the best from every style and make a super style", which is basically what MMA is today.

And not only his fighting philosophies were cutting edge, but also his training was very modern. He believed, like a boxer, you need to be always in SUPER shape because you might get dragged into a long fight against a tough opponent. All those stupid karate and kung fu guys figured they could kill a man with one blow so why bother getting into great shape.

Bruce was interested in developing as a fighter, and just used movies to fund his studies/training and as a vehicle for his philosophies, and for that Bruce deserves respect.

Also, in his book The Tao of Jeet Kune Do, Bruce Lee claimed that any man with a year or so of boxing or wrestling training would whip the ass of most traditional martial artists. That was proven 20 years after his death when the UFC started up and these karate guys got exposed by wrestlers and BJJ guys.
