I think ko losses, or multiple knockdown fights, win, lose or draw, fighters should be automatically taken to the hospital as a precaution.

As per the case with Adrien Broner vs. Maidana... it was only sensible to take him to the hospital.

Hope so, but it's really hard for some fighters to give it up.
As far as I'm concerned Paulie is better, behind the mic.

Porter was a savage in there. I expected Paulie to give him some trouble. He just manhandled Paulie. He has that physical, fearless style that will be tough to beat. I'm interested to see him fight someone who has the a big punch though, just to see if he would or could change his style and remain effective. I felt bad for Paulie last night. He did well for the talent he has (no punch n not very quick/fast). He's a smart and skilled boxer and a very good commentator. Hope he calls it now....

Paulie had a good run, for the talent he actually had- which was one of a great boxer, with limited power and moderate speed. Paulie's greatest talent was making you miss- he is, in my opinion, better at that (especially in his younger years) than Mayweather is now.

I always laughed when Paulie made guys miss, and miss badly... hahahhahahhahaa.... its like he was never in the spot you thought he was.
Come on you can't be serious with that? Paulie making people miss better than Mayweather? Are you kidding me? I have grown to appreciate Paulie, but I have never been able to understand what makes people think he's so "slick", he just isn't. He is a high volume jabber who was pretty good defensively and always came into the ring with a great gameplan but to put him in the category of a Mayweather, Hopkins, Toney etc. is kind of a joke. Against who? He looked spectacular against Cherry and his first fight against N'dou. Fine, when else? He has always had ridiculously quick feet and good balance up top which is why he had so much success but come on he got battered by Cotto, Hatton and Khan. Ngoudjo and Ndou (2nd) both tagged him consistently and damn near won their fights against Paulie in what I'm assuming you would consider his prime. Harder to hit than Mayweather?

I though Paulie should have retired after he lost against Khan, so he has done very well in his career.

Paulie had a great career, was never THE guy or even close to being THE guy, but was very crafty and I think he could have been THE guy at some point if he had a respectable punch.

I still think he could continue on being a contender and probably holding a lesser-known trinket belt, but given the fact that he has a great commentating gig he should quit while he still has his health.

The beatings he took from Cotto, Hatton, Khan and now Porter were brutal. Those are the dangerous losses like the one to Porter, where you're getting constantly rocked and getting hit with clubbing shots to the side and back of the head.

Shots Paulie should not be taking if he doesn't have to. But he said that the money they keep throwing at him to fight, and it has to be a good bit of money.

For the Broner fight, Paulie pocketed about 1.25 mil. I would assume for the Porter fight and the Judah fight, Paulie had to rake in over $500k for each appearance. Not a bad bit of change.
