Toney would work him like a body bag.
Toney would embarrassingly knock Patterson out very early in an uncompetitive fight.
I cannot envision Toney having any trouble with Ingo whatsoever.

Really? Is that why Ali toyed with Patterson who he outweighed and talled and was able to pick off at will because he couldn't do anything about it? The only other reason he could have taken 12 rounds to KO him is because he is punch weak.
I seen Patterson as no threat to Ali whatsoever personally.
Toney is a very confident boxer and Patterson had confidence issues.

I'm a huge James Toney fan but I think I might have to go with Patterson in this one.
Patterson had very fast hands and boxing skills but Toney just needed to get inside and land the punch. Toney would be able to do that.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
Bad style match up for Toney in my opinion. I think Patterson would use his mobility and foot speed advantage to get the decision. He wouldn't hurt Toney, but he wouldn't be dumb enough to stand there and let James catch him solid either. Toney is at his best vs straight forward guys who try to take his head off. Think Holy (who was shot and fought a dumb fight), Jirov, Prince Charles Williams, Iran Barkley...etc. he struggled with fast guys who were mobile and had high work rates. Think Roy, Montell, Nunn (before he caught him)...etc. Floyd fits into the second group stylistically.
Patterson gets knocked out unconcious with short, counter right uppercut as he leaps in with a left hook..
