Default Why No Excitement About Floyd-Marcos Fight? This Could Be a Real Good Fight! or a..

    ..or a dud...

A day before the fight, I wonder why there seems to be no excitement with this Floyd-Maidana fight.

I don't know why most folks, even the so-called experts, have already dismissed Maidana. Ya, granted that he doesn't have much of a style - BUT HIS AGRESSIVENESS AND POWER CAN GIVE FLOYD A BIG PROBLEM, THAT IS, IF HE REALLY CHOOSE TO FIGHT. I think if there were any fellas who'd beat the great Junior, it would've been Canelo or Maidana. But for some reason, Canelo chose to hold his guns, he didn't give any kind of credible offense in that fight. I rated him as good as Cotto in his prime and faded Cotto gave Floyd a good fight, so I thought prime Cotto or Canelo could've beaten the shat out of the duck (ok ease up babes, just kiddin' - I usually don't talk much shat around here). But then, I'm a bit suspicious of this fight coz why the heck would a normally picky floyd choose a fellow who imo could give him trouble. So I've got this nasty feeling that Maidana might come out as a meek lamb this Saturday night. You know almost every fighter before Canelo came out blazing in their fights with Floyd, though most gassed out early, from Hatton, Mosley to Ortiz.

On the reverse side, it is possilbe that Floyd might actually go for the KO... ya maybe not, but can't be that sure. I must be dreaming. Wasn't Maidana the fella who was KO'd by Khan?

I've always wanted to see if Floyd is for real or not and none of the fighter he chose so far convinced me. A class of fighter like Castillo giving him a hard time couldn't be that great, I always thought. Ya, no doubt Castillo is a pretty good fighter, but that's about it - a pretty good fighter. He ain't no Sugar Ray Leonard or Hearns or Hagler, that's for sure. So I was excited when Floyd chose Canelo but was really disappointed when the fight turned into a dud. I'm pretty excited again to see this coming fight. I get to see if this Great Floyd Mayweather Jr. is for real or not, that is, if Maidana really choose to fight, the way he fought Broner... ...and for some reason if floyd loses, please don't blame his split with his girl, that'll have nothing to do with it...
Once in awhile, get outside in fresh air, take a deep breath & with a deep sigh, let out all the things that's bottled up inside you & be free, & you'll get a glimpse of nirvana.

Hey pacfan, good to see you. I think some of us are excited about the fight. I think Chino is going to come out relentlessly with volume but he is going to get countered. Still I expect Chino to work on the body as long as he can actually find Floyd. I expected to be both lopsided and interesting. Floyd goes into the ring with every advantage and should come out 46-0. I'm looking forward to following the posts here as I watch the fight.I Will be out of state during the fight the night if the but I think I can get a signal to read all the musings. I think people are excited to see the fight but it is tempered by the fact many f US see it being lopsided. The best we can hope for is Maidana making it interesting as he loses rounds.

If Khan wins I suppose he will fight Floyd next which will b another blowout but Khan could also make interesting as Khan loses most of the rounds. Boy, we have a lot to look forward to with Floyd fights. I may need to take amphetamine.

I highly doubt Floyd fights Khan next due to religious issues with training. Even Khan has started talking about next May.

Perhaps if Broner wins he'll throw him a bone. That's a lopsided fight I wouldn't complain about.

Very few of Floyd's fights are good, (nor even watchable for that matter, lol, sleep-inducers ! )

Maidana's gonna shock the world tomorrow night though...

Yeah, it runs June 28th to July 28th this year. It can take a month or two just to get back to being able to eat normally again afterwards. He wouldn't physically be ready to fight by September and Floyd won't wait until November /December for him.

    I'm as serious as a heart-attack.

He ain't gonna knock him out though because Floyd's going to concede on his stool between rds rather than go out on his shield...

Your posts are about as appealing as a heart attack.

Yo, walrus, I'm back for this fight, I rarely come here for the 'other' fights but this one seems to be interesting. At least by his record, Chino is a KO artist so I'm quite curious what he can do against the great evader - I mean on the ring, of course. I know the expectation of the boxing fans but I think things won't go the same forever so his first '1' will come sooner or later unless he opts to retire before he gets one; that'll be a smart move on his part, though.

Hope what you said will be true but I'm not expecting it. I'm sure I won't be having a heart attack, maybe I'll get just a bit sleepy though.

Its a just a bit predictable maybe. No doubt Maidana will swing for the fences but who doesn't with Floyd at least for a few rounds before they are leashed up and paraded around like a show pony. Besides...putting Broner on the undercard in a less than ESPN type match..on PPV...is pretty sad. They just need to keep that kid in his car seat for the night and hand him a juice box.

Collazo vs Khan might just steal this show easily. Think it'll be heated and can see both coming off the deck before its over. Thinking Collazo by tko

They're trying everything to make some excitement. As of last I'd heard the fight is OFF over gloves.

There's a video where Floyd tries on Maidanas glose and you can immediately see there is no padding over the knuckles. The commission did reject that pair but approved others of the same type. Floyd is saying F them put him in the same gloves I'm wearing.

Almost certainly this is nothing in the long run but it's fun

Wow, didn't hear that. They goosed the gloves When your only shot is to land a bomb Floyds just attacking at his foundation. Winning on the jab before the bell even rings I think Maidana is the kinda guy who could care less

The video is on fighthype if you want to watch it. It's perfectly visible there's no padding over the knuckles. He pushes on the knuckle and it stays indented haha. I'd give you a link but I'm out so I'm on my crap phone as usual. I'm quite certain it will get sorted out but...
