Well shit i meant 115-113 for Mayweather i guess when i was in a rush for work i put in the wrong thing. Sorry about that confusion on that fell that right score is 115-113 I don't count aggression that misses or low blows really. Anyhow thank you for pointing that out need watch the numbers i type.
Your right. A lot of his punches he threw knowing they wouldn't land. He had to be messy this way otherwise to stand in punching range and land good clean, scoring shots would leave himself open to get caught. They were banking on tiring Floyd and hoping that the exertion would fool the judges.
In amateur boxing where only scoring shots are counted Floyd would have won by a comfortable margin.
I found the fight to be closer than the score that those judges had because I was so close to giving Maidana a draw except that although I am not a fan of PBF you have to give him credit. He is durable and a defensive wizard, a student of his sport because he came through. True Maidana made a great deal of contact but Floyd met up to the challenge and in the end he acted like a gentleman which knocked me for a loop. Floyd won because he turned adversity into victory because he threw straighter punches and made his move when he felt all the power that Maidana had put forth. Floyd won because he fought back, he's proved it over and over, he's not only a boxer but a fighter.
I watched this fight again in high quality yesterday. 1st time I scored it 7-5 for floyd but after seeing it again I had it 9-3 for floyd. There were quite a lot of close rounds but maidana just didn't land very many good clean punches, aggression is great but it has to be affective, how anyone can think maidana won that fight is seriously crazy
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
I actually rewatched the fight with Floyd a few times, and then I went back and watched previous Maidana fights.
Khan had come on very strong in the beginning but was running a bit toward the end. Maidana had adjusted to Khan's speed and started bringing on a non stop onslaught. Khan also was the bigger or at least taller fighter in that match, and Maidana hung in there and made a good showing of it by the time all was done.
Then I watched the fight vs Broner again. Everyone knows Maidana put forth a good performance in this one, although Broner did hang in there (and ran less than Khan ironically).
I think maybe Maidana is just a lot better than he was being given credit for prior to this. That being said, I still feel Mayweather pulled off the win despite being the smaller fighter and not having much firepower to discourage Maidana.
