    Default Canelo/Pacquiao at 150?! Absurd

150 is the weight Roach wants. This sport will be better off when Roach goes away. He is easily the most overrated trainer and he is insufferable.

Walk away Roach, spend more time with your boy toy at the Salon. And take your handicapped fights with you. Floyd accepting Canelos catchweight offer was weak but 150 is a f'n joke.

Explain the problem you have with the idea? This is a serious question.

I'm sick of catch weights. Fight a guy at his weight or STFU IMO.

Canelo can't make 150 and be even remotely good anymore. He hasn't even made 154 in his last 2 fights. A fight at 150 would be a cash grab that proves absolutely nothing. Take any of the top 4 at 140 and put them in with a 150 Canelo and they win easy. Hell I'd feel confident the LW Crawford could dominate Canelo at 150 now. Canelo is only getting bigger and we saw how weak he was making 152 in September. 150 is corpse talk. It's offensive. And it's been going on for far too long from Roach.

How lame is that? Catch weights, ugh.

I'll fight Manny Pacquiao myself, but the stipulation is he has to meet me at HW.

Catch weight fights are fine in some instances, but in this case, I don't think Canelo can get under 154 easily. If Pacquiao is too small to fight at 154, that's fine, stay at 147 or below.

Don't let Floyd off so easily though. He made Canelo fight at a catchweight and bailed on a catchweight for Marquez. A-sides do this stuff all the time.

By the way, I think they should keep Manny away from punchers if they want him to win. Canelo is a bad match-up for him for that reason.

I also just read Roach prefers Danny Garcia.

Pacquiao'd still kick your heavyweight @$$, either in the ring or on the street.

You'd be gassing after 3 minutes and lay down on your own volition.
It wouldn't be like Rocky, "Get up, one more rd, get up 'cause Mickey loves you!"

Nope, you'd go down on your own, son...

Roach has a pretty clear modus operandi and its not me saying so, its the empirical evidence. One would think that if a guy was a true pound for found fighter that he would want to challenge the bigger man at his best, not his worst. Armstrong never asked Ross to drop and Henry weighed in under 135 for that welter challenge, Greb never asked Tunney to drop a loaf. If a division is to big then stay out of it. I don't mind the odd catchweight super fight either but not for titles. Those things are watered down enough.

Now this would not be a title fight but it would not be a super fight either if Alvarez made 150. It would be a seal clubbing, reminiscent of the Oscar fight and about as meaningful. Manny should just go to 140 and quit expecting everyone to shrink for him. It taints every accomplishment its involved in.

Nah he'd get killed on the street. He only practices boxing, which is a limited fighting system. I do muay thai so I use all limbs hahaha

I don't think anyone believes that Beanflicker could beat up Manny Pacquiao.

You don't know if Pacquiao does just boxing. I thought he did some training in Yaw-Yan.
There's a helluva lot of Filipino martial arts systems.

Never assume because it makes an ass of u and me...

Cash grab diva match. We're not really this hard up for marketable fights are we. That or promoters taking short cuts and in the case of fighters not making weight, all not doing their jobs.

Its almost a "distract the monkies" move....meanwhile is there any truth that K-9 Bundrage is going to get a shot at Molina and not Charlo

Boxing's not run in a professional manner.
It's a corrupt sport, rotten to the core, if sport it even can be called.

Anyway, we're in an era where World Championships don't mean near as much as they used to. The fights that'll make the most money are what gets made.
The fans will put up with any hose-job and keep coming back.

Anyway, fighters ought to realize just winning ain't enough. This is supposed to be entertainment.
With the exception of Mayweather, if a fighter stinks out a joint with a boring win, the masses won't pay to watch him.

People expect too much of Pacquiao.
Dude could still easily make 140 lbs, he's only about 148 lbs on fight night in the ring.
And while he's still good, he ain't what he used to be. Pacquiao's phenomenal peak ended after the 2010 Margarito fight. It's been a slow, gradual deterioration with him though.
Other guys still have all their abilities in 1 fight, and show up with literally nothing the next fight out.

    Canelo?
For $#!t's sake, people are expecting a 148 pounder to fight a Light-Heavy 174 pounder.

And that's the truth, Alvarez weighed 174 lbs on fight night agaisnt Angulo a couple of months ago.

    26 pounds difference.
    5 weight-classes apart!

But yet, No catch-weights, no catchweights !
