    Default jab hand

I generally spar with my left jab hand down around chest level unless my opponent is attacking me in close range i generally feel i have much better head movement with my hand down and covering my chin with my shoulder and keeping good distance. I have seen many boxers who are successful at this but is this different for kickboxing should i get my hand up becouse of kicks or relly on my vision.

you'll have to change that against a south paw!!

i keep both hands up, the distance and reaction time required for blocking/parrying is far less than when you have to bring your hands up from your chest.

(At contact range) Focusing on and blocking close to their elbows would help you ,that way you can block and attack off the same arm .You having it already down at that level is closer to the elbow and your blocking there and launching attacks from there will be eventually faster at that range.
