This one vs Derrick Gainer. War, bunck of knockdowns and a one punch ko. In 3 parts.
Interesting comment by Lederman in round 6 or so...He scored an even round when both fighters went down, but only one was offically called a knockdown.

This one with Alejandro 'Cobrita' Gonzalez. I thought Gonzalez would go on to do so much more than he did. A friend of mine was familiar with him, having seen him fight and work out in Juarez. He told me he'd beat Kelly. I was fortunate enough to see him work out a number of times as he prepared to fight Louie Espinoza. Good fight that really really took a lot out of Kelly.
Kelley was a favorite if mine. The Gonzalez fight was hard to watch as he took a pretty bad beating n had his eyes swollen shut. I also thought Gonzalez would go on to do great things. One of the best fights I saw when I started watching boxing was Kelley vs Troy Dorsey. That was a high volume war that Kelley won. Great fight. He was like Meldrick Taylor in my opinion. Loads of talent to be great but had too much heart n wanted to please the fans more than just win. He was a great boxer when he wasn't brawling or going for the KO.
He fought Nas in his American debut.
In a short but entertaining fight.
You say tomato,
‘n I say …… it correctly.
I remember Kelly fighting Goyo Vargas. I was a fan of Vargas after he beat Hodkinson.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
