I made sure to use the words "can" and "could" due to the exceptions to the rule... I'm sure there were a couple others that were effective throughout history, but if you were training multiple fighters would you teach them all to switch stances because Marvin Hagler and Terrence Crawford were/are successful at it.
I also don't recommend crossing your feet, but Rigondeaux breaks that rule and is quite successful.
