Default Ronnie Shields lost that fight for Lara

He's all over the place saying how canelo wants no part of Lara and how they got screwed, it all comes down to your fighter taking a horrible approach to that fight and that's what lost it. Lara needs to dump shields, he has cost him hundreds of thousands of dollars.

so rather than looking at those that scored this very close fight, or Lara who could have easily followed up with more straight lefts without reply, or Alvarez who was getting boxed silly early and showed the fortitude to adjust his level of aggression and approach to turn it around it's on Shields, got it.

I can't agree with you. Think about it, everyone knew how Lara was going to fight, he's been fighting with the same game plan his entire career. I doubt anyone could change the way Lara fights, it's who he is.
Hit and slip away, hit and not get hit, keep it up until the other fighter slows up, then and only then start applying more pressure. That's Lara's basic fight plan, and it almost worked. If Lara had worked a little harder every round, thrown more punches every round, he would have won the fight, in my opinion.
A very close fight, that a lot of people think Lara did win.
You will never change the way Lara fights, he is a sniper, that needs to engage more.
There was one judge I'd like to talk to someday.

Ronnie Shields is a good guy. But he has two character flaws- 1. He is NOT a good "in-fight" corner man; and 2. He does not play the politics of the game to manoeuvre his fighters in a good position to win close ones.

With the second point, everyone else is manipulating the system- from judges, to home crowd advantage, to softening the ref's to getting the right ring size and preferred gloves.

Shields is not the guy for that. He may be a good gym-work trainer. But he is not the guy for fight time.
    Bigger man George, bigger punch!

You answered your own question. Lara's strategy was perfect except for one thing, his level of aggression. Isn't thAt on the corner??
