Thread: FNF Main event: Williams vs Campillio

Got in late but decent main event with a hard charging Thomas Williams Jr. 17-0 (12) taking on Gabriel Campillio 23-6-1 (10 ) who has been in deep as of late. TGIF

Campillo finding some holes early in 3rd, comes out fast and backing Williams jr up. Very accurate and making Williams blink and back and load up on singles. His eye is bugging him a bit

Campillo has turned Williams jr into Tavoris Cloud in the 4th round. He is bloodied nose and cut over the eye and blinking bad and not wearing it well as far as body language. Even up 2-2 so far.Campillo looks very strong start of 5th...

Williams looks like a guy ready to almost opt out. He has no idea what to do here

Wow. Talk about experience revealing truth. Williams Jr looked as panicked a fighter I have seen in a long time going to corner

Man, never saw a fighter put Teddy on the spot like that, THAT was a made for tv moment. Williams kneels to Teddy and ask if he let him down etc. Unreal, and very telling

Its more evidence that they need to put these kids in with a little tougher opposition earlier and try to make them face a little adversity. Williams folded and so did his coddling corner.

No idea about how to deal with it, was in retreat mode and not listening to corner.
To be fair, the cut was in a bad spot.
Williams is going to have to learn how to suck it up.

Wow, Teddy gets the respect of fighters.

And Campillo lives to fight another day. There are few money fights out there for Campillo at 175. He could take on Pascal so Pascal stays busy while he waits for either Kovalev or Stevenson. He could be a come-back opponent for Bute or Kessler. I've been a Campillo fan and felt bad about it when he lost to Fonfara because he was beating him up all night.
