Default Floyd Mayweather Jr. really proved himself last night!

I was amazed at the fighting spirit! The gritty determination to fight hard! The Message to Boxing itself that he is the meanest toughest SOB since Carmine Basilio.....................

He can still win handily and will most likely retire undefeated but I think the days of his truly great performances are over. He's not going to beat guys up, he's going to win more rounds and try not to take damage to his head or fists in the process.

no doubt. i thought the fight was a farce. he embarrassed himself last night and he knows it. "I'm gonna knock Maidana out!!" lol. by running him to death he tricked the ref into giving him a rest when he was hurt. im sick to death of this thugs cheating/running tactics. im done with floyds PPV.

Don't know that I would consider it a great performance. He was effective at limiting Maidanas offense and didn't run as bad as Lara, but it wasn't a performance on the level of when he fought Chico or Hatton. Floyd is a great boxer, no doubt. Last night he was very boring though.

Floyd is not what he was, he's getting hit more and his face shows it blood from the nose and his mouth, I was wondering was Kenny Bayliss Floyds cousin he stank the place out.!!
Bayliss reminded me of the Joe Cocker Song, I get by with a little help from my friends.

floyd will retire and not fight a boxer with speed and or power. Cant run from a boxer who can run with you.

That was a solid win by Mayweather. All hats off to him. He took the fight from jump street- and even though he got hit hard in some cases, it wasn't enough to stun him or stop him from doing what he came to do.

Maidana lost that fight. Lost that fight because from the beginning he didn't come to fight as he did in the first fight. Mayweather was there to being swarmed at times and he lost it... but, Mayweather was moving around the ring. So Maidana possibly couldn't catch him the way he could have.

Hats off to Mayweather. Still ducking Manny, but hats off to him.

    Exactly.

I was more bored this time than usual but he got the job done.

He will never be that kind of fighter the majority want him to be so just accept his style.

Bayless ruined the fight, but Floyd did look good in spots. Holding, holding and then clear track and field ruined it though. He just isn't worth his asking price for that kind of showing. Bayless was taken by the ghost of Cortez. Allowed to fight inside, Floyd would have had another demanding night. It was planned that Floyd would hold and Bayless would allow nothing inside.

Floyd still commands respect, I hate him but he still commands respect.

Bayless allowed Floyd to lock up Maidana's elbows, but got in the way when Maidana came to swarm and broke them up when Maidana had one free hand.

Bayless looked like the second opponent in the ring that night.

I have respect for Bayless. Said he was one of the best in the business. Is the best in the business. But after that fight last night, I can't say that about him with such certainty.

Bayless lost tremendous credibility with that performance.
