Default The problem with being a small fighter

after donaire getting knocked out and also seeing mares getting KO'd a while ago, it makes me realize that you are at a huge disadvantage being a small fighter. both of these fighters were really good at their natural weight but were more or less forced to move up to get respect. i know that mares had very good wins at a lower weight and had to move up a lot in weight for him to get noticed. i feel like darchinian had this problem too. he had monstrous power at lower weights but had to move up far enough that his power just didnt carry.

i know that most fighters (other than HWs) have this problem. the fans want them to move up in weight after they clean out their division or even before just to take an intriguing fight. the problem with really small fighters is that they seem to move up a lot of weight and then start to fade away because they just cant handle the weight. so i feel bad because i think that if they could get recognition at lower weights, they could create a nice legacy rather than having to fight heavy to get noticed.

That's why we gotta give MAJOR PROPS to Frazier, Tyson, Marciano for going in aagainst WAY bigger guys and cleaning house like they did. I've always said in boxing SIZE MATTERS.
