Al Haymon, love him or hate him, is good for the fighters. He is a fighter's advisor. He hasn't shafted any of his fighters to date- at least not that I am aware of.
Our rub with Haymon is that he is bad for fight fans. But, I think fight fans are a bit too blood thirsty to begin with. But, Haymon has not given us a real fight we have wanted to see, yet.
Two fights that one can possibly say Haymon created that was what fight fans MAY have wanted to see was Broner vs. Maidana. Broner was expected to win, but it was by sheer accident that he got his ass handed to him and by accident, being that even Haymon thought Broner had it- or else it would not have been made.
The second fight that was a MAY have wanted fight was Garcia's step up against Morales. People still labelled Morales as man to beat.
But, other than that, Haymon has carefully guided his fighters into large purses with limited risk.
But, at some point and time, that is going to run out. He wont be able to raise money for any fight until he gets someone in the ring with someone.
Haymon had better find a way to get some real guys in the ring. And it doesn't have to be Mayweather. In fact, to be honest, until Mayweather fights Manny- which will never happen- casual and hard core fight fans won't give two hoots about who he fights- except for Alvarez, and only nutty Mexican fight fans in Mexican holidays would give a hoot. But not us. We know better.
Haymon has to arrange a situation where: Crawford, Broner, Thurman, Garcia, in particular, get into the ring and fight one another. He just has to.
Quillin is dead weight now. He dodged Koborov and his hiding behind Haymon means he wont fight GGG any time soon. And neither does GGG want him since he dropped the WBO title in his run from Koborov and Jay Z.
So that's where this is.
Haymon: Give is something we want to see.
