    Default fonfara is not good

I fell like somebody has been trying to push fonfara into the boxing world like he will amount to anything significant at all. I have seen him fight 4 times now and he has not at all impressed me in any fight. He has decent power and a pretty good chin but is super slow, has no footwork, has no upper body movement, and has terrible defense.

Does anybody think that he will amount to anything? He shouldn't be headlining a Showtime card. That fight tonight was at the level of a good fnf main event. He wants a rematch with Stevenson even though he got beat handily. Nobody wants to see a rematch. I just don't at all see anything about him that makes me think that he will ever be a top guy in a weight division. He just isn't good.

I agree, he's not a very talented guy. Reminds me a bit of a smaller Adamek, but literally just smaller with comparable everything and nothing to compensate for being at his weight. I think a good part of the reason Stevenson was knocked down a notch for struggling against Fonfara was for just this reason, show's he's still vulnerable throughout a fight against anyone who will stick around.

Yeah .. Fonfara blew his meal ticket. The execs obvious thought they could get more people watching by pushing this guy off the Stevenson showing, but Fonfaras problem is hes lazy and too happy lugging it ... Stepping around with one twos and body shots. The guy he fought last night was all over the place. I'm not sure what kind of advice he got from his corner, but if he had stopped pushing the the straight right and went to the left hook, Fonfara could have turned it up it earlier on and had this guy out by round 6/7. His opponent was wide open for it all night.
They want your @$$ beat because upsets make news. News brings about excitement, excitement brings about ratings. The objective is to bring you up to the tower and tear your @$$ down. And if you don't believe that, you're crazy.

I've seen him fight once at the Chicago Pavillion. Good fighter, but not great. I was more impressed with the fight afterward Edwin Rodriguez who went on to fight Ward...and he seemed iffy with skills, but he got a nice stoppage with some wicked bodyshots...oh, this was about Fonfara...nevermind LOL!

He def looked cumbersome and fittingly for Halloween he had the legs of Frankenstein. The jab and right down the middle were MIA vs an open Doudou. Spent way too much time reacting and playing catch up in what was there to be a showcase bounce back after respectful tough finish vs Stevenson.

Eh he had a bad night against a gutsy guy and he is pretty one dimensional.

He's still very tough and has punching power. That'll take you a long way.

i dont think it was a bad night. he looked the same in every fight ive ever seen him in. when he fought johnson, johnson just looked old and fonfara could just outwork him. campillo won every round until the inevitable happened and he got knocked out. stevenson won just about every round against him. now ngumbu, who isnt even a good fight, gave him a run for his money.

fonfara's best attribute is that he is resilient. other than that, he doesnt have anything that really sticks out.
