This is what makes his championship run and his win column look even more impressive for the heavyweight division. He won with limited power. lol...
I always remark on Holmes's power- it was not a grenade, not an atomic drop, not a missile, but more of a "flash bang" that scared the daylights out of you from advancing.
The only person that took a Holmes shot and walked through it like a man on a mission was Iron Mike Tyson. No one else had stood up and didn't run from Larry when he popped you or "flash banged" you.
When Mike Tyson his you, it was like an atomic bomb dropped on you.
When Ali hit you, it was like a stinging shot from a sniper riffle. Crisp, clean and effective.
When Evander hit you, it was like someone pelting you with beanbags in your head and stomach until you cringed and wanted no more.
When Lennox hit you, it looked like a damn anvil dropped on your head. You were not getting up.
When Riddick hit you, it looked like someone pounding you with a sledgehammer.
But, when Holmes hit you, you stood up and rethought what you wanted to do. It was a good little flashbang strategy for Holmes. And, more often than not, more were coming with it. Just little flash bangs until you decided to stop or just not want to finish strong with him.
