Default Manny could have been so much better.

    Just imagine..

Manny left bob arum after hatton and took on a proper advisor like al haymon.

He changed trainers to improve his defence and perhaps give him half a brain to use in the ring.

Now that would be something to worry about..

You cant turn back time but its pretty obvious that Manny has spent a lot of his time feeding the trolls and a bunch of clinger ons that he just doesn't need.

Just because manny speaks in broken English and has unexplained increase in head size does not make him stupid or on peds.

He missed a massive opportunity in his life and should have paid attention to the golden boy and mayweather blueprint in business.

(As the fight gets closer, I seem to be getting a bit more pissed off but don't hold that against me)

He is 1 of the most iconic and talked about fighters in the sport. I think his path in life has been pretty damn good.

How? He's fought a whose who of the sport in many different weights and firmly established himself as an ATG. He probably could have made more money if he had ditched Arum, but that's his prerogative and he's still made a fortune, besides that would be no guarantee as he has a lot of distractions and obligations. The only fight that he ever really missed out on was Floyd when it was more appealing to hardcore fans, but the fight is happening now, it's going to be just as lucrative as ever, it wont be Floyd or Manny who missed out in any way.

I wish he could have gotten away from Bob Arum for himself. Manny is an ATG, a true warrior in the ring and one of the greatest action fighters in boxing history, he was too good to have dirty Bob taking those big chunks out of his pay cheque. Floyd showed how, once you reach a certain level, you can be your own boss and keep most of your money. Manny was on the level and could have done it but never did.

I just get sad when I hear about these fucking promoters robbing the guys who go in there and risk their lives for our entertainment.

Exactly. How dare Brian Epstein die like that!

Manny has beaten how many great fighters and not only beaten them, but beat the shit out of them! He had an iffy career opening, but has come on in incredible leaps and bounds. Manny flew up the weights, he beat up prime Barrera, he avenged his Morales loss, he has beaten up so many much bigger men. He has developed power in both hands, has become a much more versatile and intelligent fighter. What more do you want exactly? It seems for the Floyd diehards a pounding of their hero is the only answer.

Uncle Bobs crooked and feeds a good line of bull$h*t. Still as it was if he signed with al Haymon, he may have made more money, but no way al's letting him fight all the people fought (especially not marquez that many times) so he's ho humming it like Al's other fighters (like peterson/ garcia). As far as mannys relationship with Roach, theres a bond there which is why freddy was able to overhaul him as a fighter. There's no saying he couldn't possibly bond with someone else but more than likely that person doesn't have his trust like Freddy does so the message doesn't get through. Lets say for the sake of argument he finds a trainer that makes him more defensive and has him using every inch of the ring. He's now not fighting the style that endeared a lot of fans to him and he becomes less exciting to watch.
You cant rewrite a person's history without looking at the parts of the personality that made things happen that way the first time. With all do respect, your scenario takes place in a vacuum as you try to sprinkle some kind of Floydness on him.
They want your @$$ beat because upsets make news. News brings about excitement, excitement brings about ratings. The objective is to bring you up to the tower and tear your @$$ down. And if you don't believe that, you're crazy.

Good points. It's somewhat akin to the logic of Hatton going with Mayweather Snr. It makes no sense why you would dump what made you shine for a bit of defensive polish that you are unlikely to master in a couple of years and which will detract from the aggression which got you where you are. Manny has evolved under Roach anyway and for all his 'flaws', he has only really been hurt badly the one time in years and years.

If there was anyone who could predict how events play out, they'd be richer than warren buffett. Who's to say Pacquiao would have been better off doing anything other than what he has done. The boy was homeless on the streets where the majority of the people live in poverty. I don't think he set out trying to be on of the richest.

Of the two Manny is the one that should be admired. He had to fight to live He was fighting pro at 15 yrs old same as Antonio Margarito. They were both thrown in ring with grown men while just kids Everything they've got they EARNED!!!!!!!!!!!
Mayweather on the other hand has been mollycoddled & protected his whole career. He never had to worry if he'd be eating that day or not.
I admire fighters like Paquaio, Margarito & Bernard Hopkins they came up the hard way

Imp does not hate Manny but he odes hate Arum, there is no denying that.

Manny could have made more money that is certain if he left Bob and become his own independent fighter.

    Exactly.

I have never denied manny as being a great fighter but I just cant stand Bob arum and feel that manny could have made some serious money (even more than floyd?) if he left bob at the right stage.

Just because I talk about mannys losses etc does not mean for one second that I am not aware That manny pac is the biggest threat to Floyd's 0.
