With Froch dancing around the ring... Kov wins a snoozer of a UD.

He would get knocked out. Pascal is not the SMW that Froch squeaked passed 100 years ago.

Froch wouldn't have the cojones! Kovalev irons him out inside 6 rounds.

Froch should challenge Stevenson for the real belt and then go out with a bang and fight Kovalev.

Well kessler is a freight train puncher and froch was ok in those fights and unlike pascal froch goes to the body hard and regular

Froch doesn't have the defense for that. Heart yes, but midway he would look like a marionette puppet off balance.

Surely Froch would stay up close where he can annihilate tough guys?
Kovalev doesn't seem to like being up close so that would be the advantage

I would say Kovalev is beatable, but Froch is just not big enough Carl is tough but so was Pascal
a box puncher will beat Kovalev , I don't think Froch has the tools I could be wrong.
Really does Froch need such, a hard fight at this point in his carer NO not really it would be crazy
get out the game with all your marbles.

I don't see the point of this thread. Froch wouldn't challenge Kovalev in a million years.
    1. He's never wanted to go up to LHW
    2. He's looking for the easiest fights to retire on, that's why he's virtually begging for a fight with Chavez.
    3. If Groves could put him on his Ass, Kovalev would put him into next week.
    4. There's been suggestions that Froch would move and pepper Kovalev with body shots. Hopkins is quite a skilled boxer, and Kovalev schooled him.
Because Kovalev and GGG can bang and bang big, we lose sight of the fact that they are also very skilful boxers.

Exactly, someone said a boxer-puncher would beat Kovalev? What? Only an extremely skilled fighter is beating Kovalev. Kovalev was an extremely good amateur not because he could bang but because he could box. You remove his power and he still outboxes most at 175.

I don't see how Froch could beat Kovalev. Froch has a lot of heart, but he eats punches for breakfast and I don't see how he could withstand it after all the wear and tear he has been through. Froch's only chance is to land a hail Mary, but Froch is not really a KO puncher. Kovalev is the all round package in that he can fight technically, but still has that thudding power. Pascal came back well, but maybe that was because Kovalev thought he was done and didn't expect Pascal to be quite that resilient. But then he adjusted a s smart fighter will. Froch has so many flaws and typically finds a way to win, but he has a hard time against technical fighters and if Froch cannot dent Kovalev then he is either going to lose on points or get hurt.

haha. is this a joke? this fight wouldnt even be close. froch has a good chin but he does not last the distance. pascal has a better chin than froch and look what happened to him. froch is too easy to time. even a kessler who was way past his prime gave froch a lot of trouble. also, groves basically pressured him and made him uncomfortable and could have easily won the first fight if it werent for the fact that he couldnt sustain the pressure because he isnt a top fighter like kovalev. watch the beginning of the first froch and groves fight and thats how a fight with kovalev would be except that froch isnt getting up from the big punch that kovalev lands.
