Blatantly ducking Kovalev is one thing but fighting a bike next is taking the biscuit.

Bookies have opened the books -
Stevenson is the 8/11 favourite, the Penny Farthing is slight outsider at 6/4.

    Perhaps. Perhaps not.

He told the crew it was going to get done at the Pascal fight so the first words out of his mouth should be Kovalev should he waltz past the old warhorse. I was hoping that the WBC was going to do what it said it would and force the issue and then this statement came out,

The WBC is extremely proud to continue with the task of securing the fights that the fans want and deserve to see. During the historic 52nd Annual Convention in Las Vegas in December of last year, the WBC voted unanimously in favor of a proposal which would lead to the unification of the light heavyweight division. Since then, Stevenson defended the WBC title in December, and Kovalev defeated Jean Pascal to determine the mandatory challenger with a spectacular victory that was also for the WBC Diamond belt.

Stevenson has a voluntary title defense scheduled for April 4 against former WBC super middleweight world champion Sakio Bika, and Kovalev has his mandatory commitment scheduled for the IBF. These are very exiting times for boxing. The WBC is very happy to be part of them, and is committed to continue this path.
They updated that with this today,

The WBC, WBA, IBF and WBO light heavyweight unification fight between Adonis “Superman” Stevenson and Sergey “Krusher” Kovalev took another important step when the WBC has ordered a purse bid to take place April 17 in order to determine the promoter of this major event. Initially requested by Groupe Yvon Michel (GYM) to insure the required time to prepare for a major event like this super fight, the WBC agreed to host the purse bid on Apr. 17 in Mexico.

The winner of this purse bid will have an advantage over the other promoter in terms of determining the date, place and television network for the light heavyweight showdown. Each group will split the bid equally on a 50-50 basis.

Before the Stevenson (25-1, 21 KOs) vs. Kovalev (27-0-1, 24 KOs) rumble can happen, though, both fighters must win their next bout. Stevenson, the Haitian-born Quebecer, has to successfully defend his WBC and The Ring crowns April 4 in Quebec City against Cameroon native Sakio Bika (32-6-3, 21 KOs), while Kovalev has 90 days to execute a mandatory defense of his IBF belt against Frenchman Nadjib Mohammedi (37-3, 23 KOs) at a place to be determined.
The Ibf holds the cards here and needs to play ball which they have before or we are looking at 2016

@Silkeyjoe how do you see this fight going? I still have no idea how tagging works if someone could please explain?

I see that Bika is absolutely fucking massive next to Stevenson on the scales. Bika has been the most ripped supermiddle for like 10 years maybe he should be a light heavy and he will rip right through Stevenson. Some amazing odds per round for a tenner per round!

Bike is two years younger than Stevenson. I double checked. Amazing

I think Stevenson will win on PTS, Bike is hard-as-nails and makes it awkward for everyone. I wouldn't be surprised if the old boy (Bike) got chinned though. Seems to have been around forever. Oldest looking 35-year-old in the world.

I'm betting on Bika. Awkward, strong and aggressive will be a tough combination for Adonis to deal with. I think Adonis's lack of amateur and overall experience makes this a difficult assignment for him.

No chance, it will take someone better than Bike to beat Stevenson.

Bike is 10/1 for the win, 14/1 for the stoppage. Maybe worth some shrapnel
