Joe is a nice guy and a good image for the sport but should not be fighting...Period! End of Story!!!!
Reguardless of the fact he he no more injury to the brain....he got a pass on that one...a free ride...he should be greatful he is not dead...many guys die from such an injury...he should accept it and live the rest of his life...enjoy it.....there are other things he can do in life besides box...I know it is hard to leave the sport but there are other things to do...be a trainer....announcer...anything but a fighter

I think if he wants to fight that it is his choice. Hell he is allowed to ride a motorcycle. Let him fight.

Besides no one wants to see a tragedy

The greatest stories have a certain element of tragedy in them.
Also at some point Daxx you have to let people make their own decisions. If he wants to blow his head off, i respect that. If he wants to fight, i respect what he wants.

And anyway, to an extent the analogy of motorbikes can be continued in that they are allowed to make that decision to an extent, but he is still protect to the extent that the law would proscribe that he has to wear a helmet. I'm on your side Daxx in that he needs to be protected from himself to stop him fighting. Even if it means he chooses unlicensed fights or fighting abroad, we can give him the helmet, even if we can't get him off the bike.Originally Posted by Daxx Kahn
Wearing my shitty analogy thin.......but.....In several states, such as Utah, helmets are not required.

In that case, Joe Mesi can sod off and fight in Utah in front of three men and a dog.Originally Posted by boozeboxer
Actually Tua fought in Utah not too long ago.

For guys who've fought in front of large crowds in Vegas, Atlantic City and other big fight cities in the states, it must be desperate indeed to be fighting in a state which is most famous (and excuse me if I stereotype, or get any facts wrong) for having large expanses of flat emptiness where people go to break land speed records, and having fat ugly men with 6 wives and 27 kids because they're some sort of religious outcast living in a group of trailers.
I have lived in Utah and Salt Lake City is very very nice. Some parts (where I lived) was kindof shitty but I still liked it.
