I don't think there's any chance the Golovkin fight happens. If Floyd wants to make his last fight somewhat meaningful I think Brook, Thurman or Khan are far more likely and they would probably bring just as much revenue, sadly.
I'm not saying Garcia should fight Floyd, but how is Khan more meaningful? Garcia ironed the fucker out!

Gennady Golovkin says he'd love to fight pound for pound great Floyd Mayweather Jnr after he's deposed of Willie Monroe.

The Kazakh star faces Monroe in Inglewood, California next Saturday (May 16) and is full focused on the task at hand, but when asked if he'd like the opportunity to face Mayweather this September, his enthusiasm was clear to see.

"Of course, it is my dream fight. Obviously, Floyd, he is a great champion, and a little bit different style. Floyd, he's a smart guy," Golovkin said.

"He does a lot of moving. For my style, a little bit different, I like drama show, I like real fight, like close fight. I want show, big show; big drama show!"

In reality the fight is unlikely to happen. Mayweather is welterweight who occasionally flirts with light-middleweight, while Golovkin is a big middleweight and is probably too big a risk for the self-styled Money.

One match that could well happen, though, is against Miguel Cotto. The Puerto Rican is now campaigning at 160lbs and won the WBC crown by beating Sergio Martinez last June. Cotto is currently scheduled to defend against Daniel Geale at a catchweight of 157lbs, and should be prevail, Golovkin could be a unification opponent in the autumn.

"My goal is to hold all the belts. Absolutely, I hope for a big fight with Miguel because he has the WBC title, I have the WBC interim belt, and of course I want a unification fight with Andy Lee. I think he's ready and, of course, my dream fight is against Floyd," Golovkin stated.

He's a throwback coward that won't challenge himself.

If Floyd were at 168,ggg wouldn't even mention his name.

    This made me laugh:
"Golovkin is a big middleweight and is probably too big a risk for the self-styled Money"

Mayweather has taken more risks than ggg could ever imagine.
If he had one of Floyd's balls he'd be kicking asses at cruiserweight....or at least trying to.

Exciting.....He should be even more exciting considering the level of opposition.

Lara called him out....nothing but crickets...sure,you'll say he destroys Lara, but his silence is deafening.

The point being,Lara wants some, and is far and away better than anybody of golovkin's meager dance card.

Golovkin is not looking for any challenges.

If he were from America you guys would be saying the SAME THING I'M SAYING about that cowardly punching bag
I knew you would bite on this one! and you had 2 goes at the hook as well. LMFAO.

True, maybe not more meaningful just a better fight. Khan is by far the lesser option of those 3 imo, guess I just agree with a lot of people that he has the speed and range to trouble Floyd, it's a reasonably interesting clash that probably wouldn't suck Floyd isn't going to iron anyone out , and Khan is fun to watch. Garcia on the other hand couldn't win a round against Floyd and has never even fought at 147, has lost twice imo since beating Khan and would probably lose a rematch today. The dude has no idea how to box.

I still say Terence Crawford should get a shot...he's stopped Gamboa and Dulorme recently, sure he's a smaller guy, but same height as Floyd, he's 27 so should be in his pomp and could add some weight on no problem. Crawford has fought and beat and lost to Danny Garcia before in the amateurs....I think his style would cause Floyd trouble, plus he has younger legs. He moved up in weight in less than 14 days to fight Prescott and he won....I'd like him to get a shot. He has good defense, he switches stance, he is quick, he has fast hands....he's a tough cookie

He doesn't have the big $$$$$$ so he probably won't get a shot but the kid looks tough to me

    Mayweather beats GGG easy.

To be honest I think GGG should stop running his mouth because he needs to beat an elite fighter b4 he even mentions Mayweather.

He needs to fight AND BEAT CONVINCINGLY one of 1) Cotto 2) Canelo 3) Martinez

Or should he really want to make a statement fight Ward. It's pathetic that he's talking all this bold talk about a man who he is clearly bigger than. He's got serious challengers in and around his weight.

For me, he would not beat Floyd. I see the likes Erislandy Lara, Demitrius Andrade having a better shot at Floyd than GGG

GGG can say what he wants , and people can hold their views on the outcome.
The simple fact is Floyd will fight whoever he wants to , and I think he has earned that right.

GGG can not fight Cotto, Saul or Martinez because they are all scared of the beating he would give them. Floyd stand no chance at middleweight.

Floyd is not some great miracle worker.

ggg cannot move up like Cotto and Martinez because he is scared of the beating he'd get.

At least they had the balls to try.

Those fighters are scared to fight him, what more can he do but beat the other best available fighters at the weight?

The best available fighters all suck...just like the available fighters.
Cotto is no threat to anybody at 160.

If Quillan called out Cotto you'd call him a bitch

I don't blame Cotto for not fighting ggg...

Nobody in their right minds expects Cotto to fight big MW's..
    He is too small.

He wants a couple easy fights before calling it quits...surely not fight hard fights against big MW power.
