    Default Good Stoppage

Usually we down refs for bad stoppages.
Got to give props to Steve Smoger: Kirkland vs Tapia.
    Good stoppage.

He also knew Jermaine Taylor was done against Pavlik.
Smoger is one of the last referee to give a fighter every chance.
Wondering, are there some fights that was stopped rightly, no need to continue?

I think Richard Steele gets a rough call on early stoppages.

Some trainers have stopped prematurely or when need.

I know Paulie Malinaggi was pissed at Mcgirt for stopping the Hatton fighr. Good stoppage or bad?

Floyd's stoppage of Angel Manfredy was legit. El Diablo was clearly in trouble and didn't fight back for a long period of time.

Sometimes it's laughable when fighters throw a fit afterwards in protest...

    Hopkins Echols 2
Yeah Antwon was still on his feet but Hop beat em across the ring, out the ring.
Twon looked dejected after that back alley prison shenk-fight.

Just a dirty fight that displayed Hopkins as a tremendously skilled fighter who knew how to bend, twist & ignore every rule in the book.
Echols corner looked pissed, while Antwon looked relieved.

For those who have never seen Hopkins vs Echols...
    Youtube it...please.
    Fight one was Damn good.
Fight 2 Hopkins boxes, brawls, does a phenominal acting job when he gets body slammed.
Oh yeah the highlights shown are the fouls.
Then hop boxes for near two rounds...with one arm.
    Sweet.
Then, like a shao-lin monk he acts like he pulled the bad arm back into place.
Entertaining for those who think Hop has boring fights.

    Good Stoppage

Preventing a fighter {who has no chance in winning} from further punishment.

There are quite a few good Referee's who get very little credit for making the right decision.

If Paxtom's mom had an abortion I would consider that a "good stoppage".

I like Smoger, he's very good and keeps fighter safety first but he does have a thang for Bernard. lol

Yes. Are you saying he should have stopped it earlier from that beating that ruined him? Are you saying Steele should have allowed a man not fit to continue to continue because of the amount of time? That's madness, I hope you aren't suggesting that.
