Default Keith Thurman vs. Luis Collazo on July 11th

    Thurman-Collazo, Harrison-Nelson PBC Doubleheader - Boxing News

Apparently very close for July 11th PBC event. Thurman should be fighting at a higher class and in no way does Collazo deserve a shot at a title at this stage but they have found it difficult to match Thurman so maybe this is all that is available.

Tony Harrison vs. Willie Nelson is the co-feature.

I like Thurman and want him to fight Floyd in September rather than Khan.

Tony Harrison is a good fighter who I hope goes a long way.

This is the problem with Haymon scooping up faded fighters with a name. He needs to feed the young lions and Thurman will ko Collazo and look "one time" doing it. Simply a showcase. Tony Harrison one to watch!

Collazo needs to raise his game, but it's a fair fight IMO.

Considering Thurman can't get any of these big names in with him, I think this is a very respectable fight and the second southpaw Thurman will fight in a row.

Collazo is a very crafty vet and a notoriously hard "out". If Thurman can pull off the KO I think that would be very impressive.

Step down from Guerrero in my opinion. This is the same disinterested collazo who was leading with his face with his hands at his sides against and a jumpy and slightly skittish khan. Thurman beats the ink off that collazo, who would have probably never been heard from again if Ortiz didn't jump face first into a punch.
He could have maintained gatekeeper status if he maintained his slick southpaw style that made him a factor. The trip back down and knocking out club fighters made him thinking we was a puncher and no longer needed to be defensive or avoid punches. Shame... it was niche market he had a handle on before, pillow punching aside.
They want your @$$ beat because upsets make news. News brings about excitement, excitement brings about ratings. The objective is to bring you up to the tower and tear your @$$ down. And if you don't believe that, you're crazy.

Agreed, but Collazo really shit the bed against Khan. He fought a stubborn and foolish fight. Fought hard though and he's tough as hell.

Yeah he looked less than impressive vs Khan but Amir has that freaky hand speed that Thurman doesn't so it'll be interesting to see how Keith deals with Collazo's awkward style.

Disappointing match up IMO. maybe nobody else was available, but it's a step back for me. I have to be consistent, and I thought it was a meaningless match up for Khan , so I have to say the same for Thurman.
Nowadays, Collazo is no more than a stepping stone , and I think Thurman has progressed beyond that. I think if Thurman is as good as a lot of people (Me included) think he is, he has to step up every fight.
Hopefully Thurman Blows Collazo away and then calls Khan out. Now that I would like to see.

I don't mind the fight, but see it as a lose loes for Thurman. Nobody knows where Collazo is at quite, on paper he's nowhere, so it wouldn't be a huge statement no matter what happens here. If THurman hadn't just fought Guerrero and won so wide, I guess I could see it being good experience to fight a veteran southpaw, but I view this as a step down from that as well, although Collazo is a cagier guy for sure.

TBH I don't see what this fight does for Thurman. Thurman should put a beating on him.
