Default Jorge Linares - Kevin Mitchell...Stand out fight of the night ?

Kevin Mitchell Says Cut Won't Prevent Linares Shocker - Boxing News

I'm looking forward to this fight the most out of the whole card on Saturday. I think it has all the potential to be a fantastic tear up, as both men are very exciting and can be hurt too. Both have fantastic boxing ability and both can't afford another loss at this stage of their careers.

Who have we got for this fight then? Really am finding it hard to pick a winner. You would day Linares is the better boxer out of the two. But with this fight being in London it does give Mtchell an advantage. Mitchell has been fantastic of late as well. Really am stuck on the fence for this one.

Also like to say that it's a great card which will provide good entertainment. It's far more PPV worthy than Bellew-Cleverly 2. With so many names on the bill, annoying as it is, you can see why it's PPV

This is the fight I'm most looking forward to as well. Really is a 50-50 being in London. As always it depends on which Mitchell turns up. I'm leaning towards Linares. I just think Kevin might be one of those fighters that is always the bridesmaid.

The more I look at this fight the more I fancy Linares. Not only does he have the pedigree - before he got chinned out the first time plenty (including moi) thought he was the dogs bollocks - but he looks much faster. Mitchell blames his life out of the ring for the other defeats - which was clearly a factor - but I think he half-bottled it too. Mitchell definitely has a punchers chance though, and if i'm totally wrong and it goes late, then Mitchell has a great chance.

    Don't think it's a long fight though.

This could well be true, but I really hope Mitchell does it. he has definitely matured and is more focussed in the last year or two.

I think Linares will stop him. Mitchell will have to be as flawless as he was against Prescott to have a chance. Kind of think that if Katsidis and Burns can both stop him early, i think that Linares, providing he carries his power, will again. He's been in decent KO form.

I am a fan of both fighters but have to support Kevin and hope he has one of those magical nights where he is at his best.

I think he openly admits that around the time he fought Katsidis and Burns , he was an undedicated pisshead.
I know they all come out with excuses and "now they're in the best shape of their life", but I genuinely believe Mitchell.

Great fight, you can't really back Linares with confidence as he's chinny, but one of those "he'd win 9 of 10" scenarios imo. Mitchell isn't as good, isn't as fast, and is vulnerable himself.

Unless Linares skin betrays him, he wins this pretty easily. Mitchell has won 6 straight since Burns destroyed him. But that's been against mediocre opposition. His best win in that span came against his best opponent faced. Ghislain Maduma. Who pretty much gave him the fight. Mitchell was trailing on all cards when the inexperienced Maduma ran out of gas. He won't benefit from that stroke of luck against Linares

I'm at the O2 tomorrow and this is the main reason why I paid for a ticket. Love watching Linares and, as others have mentioned, it's a very tough fight to call. Linares's chin is very questionable but I'm just leaning towards him winning this fight by stoppage. Going to be a war for sure.

He came in 4 pounds over on the first weigh in, then came in a pound under at the second attempt! Very random for someone as seasoned as him.

Maybe he forgot to take a cap before he got on the scales!

I eat healthy and exercise 5 days a week as part of my lose weight mission. Lose a couple pounds if I'm lucky, that bastard does half a stone in minutes!

But in all seriousness, does anyone think that weight struggle will effect him in the later rounds if he really has struggled to make the weight?
