Default Porter is horrible to watch.

He beat broner with the body shots and aggression but his style is horrible.

What can porter improve on to make him seem less WWE.?

I think he is good to watch. Pretty much action guaranteed.

I don't believe he PURPOSELY fought Broner that bullrush style simply because it was effective. That's just the way Porter fights.

He leaves himself open to shots, as we saw when he walked on to Broners left hook. Kell Brook was able to pick him off every time he came rushing in when they fought, and he didn't make adjustments to stop it happening. Porter has a very good chin, so while he might get hit a lot, its hard to stop him coming forward because his chin can take it.

As Porter continues to fight more effective counter punchers, his losses will pile up. Count on it.

Porter is hardly Wlad Klitschko. What made the last fight boring was Broner's clinching and holding the head down. Porter came to fight.

Porter does seem to try and muscle his way to victory without much skill.

I've seen worse. I'd rather watch a guy fight sloppy but fight rather than a guy hold and skip about in order to avoid one.

Good analysis! Porter wants to be Mike Tyson, but doesn't have Tyson's speed or movement which
    makes him predictable.
I think he should get completely away from his father for a while. In my opinion, some smart boxing mixed in with all that aggression would make a huge difference.

He is a mauler/banger. Nothing to him other than that. The reason why he beat Paulie sooooo easily was because he knew Paulie could not hit him back and Paulie was old. So he just walked through Paulie and mauled him. I would have done the same as well.

If Broner had more pop on his shots in addition to throwing more punches, he would have beaten Porter or at least was closer to the win.

I had Porter beating Broner as a result of all of this.... Porter being more aggressive and throwing more punches.

It's interesting most blame Broner for that fight being so ugly. Yes, it was Broner that held and held and held. But Brook held and held against Porter too. Because Porter comes in too far and tries to slug away from too close. I can't think of any other fights where Broner held so much. I suppose it's philosophical, do you blame the guy that fouls or the guy that caused the fouls to happen. From a referee standpoint of course he should blame Broner and should have penalized him more. But from a viewers perspective i think Porters part in that should be considered. When Porters next fight involves much holding and Broners next fight involves none will people change their minds?

I agree with the OP though, i don't like when a guy smothers both fighters ability to work clean. But i don't think Porter has the skill to fight top guys any other way. His one advantage is brute strength(don't confuse that with devastating punching power) so he mauls with his strength. I don't see many guys at WW that can beat him but i also don't expect him to last long because he's going to take a lot of flush shots.

I hate watching Porter fight. He's not a boxer, just a mauler who goes in too much with the head. Not entertaining at all for me.

Porter is a tamed version of Edwin Valero.

I loved watching Valero, for what little we seen of him.

So is Broner. Put them together and you have appropriate punishment for a captured terrorist.

It seems like his pops (much like other family/neighborhood trainers) do very little to expand a fighter's skillset. They continue to hone whatever skill their fighter already has.

As much as I hate to say anything positive about a murdering nutter, Valero impressed in DeMarco fight and looked much 'cleaner' than a Porter. I can never knock a guy for making fugly work and being a grinder. It says just as much about the opponent who couldn't sort him out ala Brook.

Maidana v Porter. This needs to happen for my viewing pleasure Both have found the jab
