Default Andrzej Fonfara-Nathan Cleverley in the works

Andrzej Fonfara-Nathan Cleverly Clash in The Works - Boxing News

I thought Cleverley had Braehmer in the bag for the WBA Title but obviously Jurgen is walking away from Nathan for the 3rd time. Ballsy for Nathan if he takes this, but I don't see him beating Fonfara.

I've only seen Cleverly fight twice and one of those was the mauling by Kovalev.

    I'd favor Fonfara.

Ok, so now knocking out an unknown in 24 seconds gets you either a World title shot or a fight with a top 5 fighter in the division does it? Ah, that's how it works.

cleverly was a good fighter before kovalev

its worrying that he was scared to get hit against bellew

before the Kov fight id have said clev should outpoint him, now id probably bet on Fonfara

He seemed like a happy, gutsy, confident kid in the fight I saw before Kovalev.

He fought bravely against Kovalev but could not stop the tide from coming in.

Possibly a tougher fight for Nathan than Brahemer considering that Nathan buckled under the pressure in his last fight and Brahemer is more of a stand off opponent than Fonfara.
Had Andrej been a routine defence for Nathan afew years ago youd probably favour the Welshman to win on points with his workrate. Fonfaras put in two impressive displays, one in defeat against Adonis Stevenson and an emphatic KO over Chavez Junior. Cleverley meanwhile was annihilated by Sergey Kovalev and seemingly gave up trying to win against British rival Tony Bellew.

So their recent form form suggests this is going to be a hard fight for Nathan and he will need more than a range finder jab which was his only weapon in the last 6 rounds vs Bellew. We can also say that cruiserweight was the reason Nathan was so alarmingly poor that night & that back at light heavy he is more in his comfort zone but Fonafara applies the pressure better than Bellew so we could see a similar fight. Difficult fight to call as Nathan looked like he had all his confidence drained by his defeats whilst Fonfara is at an all time high. Should Nathan find some confidence from somewhere then we have a good fight stylistically to look forward to.
