Rigondeaux is unable to fight until at least February and maybe a long time after that if his current manager goes to court to try and exten his contract. He could be 35 the next time we see him fight and he got put on his arse (twice?) by a Japanese journeyman six months ago.

I don't think people will be queuing up to fight him but I don't think a guy with Lomachenko's pedigree is going to be worried about getting in the ring with him. Although if he does sign with Haymon it's not going to happen.

I've just read that Rigo requires a rehydration clause of 135 pounds and a catch weight of 124 pounds. I'm not sure how I feel about those demands. In a way, to make a good fight happen, it might be worth it, but if it depletes Loma, it clearly isn't worth it. It's not like Loma is a big puncher at 126. Finally, someone is agreeing in principle to face Rigo, and he's making demands that could derail the fight.

Also, I understand why Loma doesn't want to face Walters if Walters can't make 126 after Loma had problems with Salido when Salido weighed 130. He clearly feels better fighting as a featherweight. By the way, he could have backed out of the fight with Salido after Salido failed to make weight, but he went through with it, and lost a decision. It's tough to blame him for not wanting to go up in weight for Walters after having that experience with Salido -- at least he tried it out against a heavier guy.

As it turns out, Loma said that he'd agree to the rehydration clause of 134 to make the fight if Rigo will agree to the fight at 126. It might actually happen.

Honestly Rigo is damn near my favorite boxer but right now he needs to be humble and take what he gets!!! His people have turned down many offers and Rigo has been inactive so long. If he was to fight Loma I dont know who to pick because Loma is good and we dont know how Rigo would hold up to the Power of Loma, either way i like this i just dont know who to pick.
