Even the flomos thought it was a joke when Floyd first mentioned Berto or Mayfield. The most important part was when Floyd said - "whoever I fight I make $35 million."

The dopes that buy his fights in the hope of seeing him chinned probably still will. The dopes that buy his fights because they think he's TBE probably still will. The dopes that buy his fights because of his bling, birds and motors probably still will.

This is no different than these big name, past their prime Hollywood actors who demand large sums for medicre movies.

I saw "The Equalizer" the other night with Denzel Washington. Dull and predictable....

Mayweather wants an “entertaining fight” one where he can tee off, go on the offensive, look sensational and take risks with little worry - to keep up interest in his bouts before he goes for one more to surpass Rocky Marciano’s undefeated record of 49-0. An out-of-contract Mayweather can then name his price to fight a decent opponent on his terms. Berto becomes less of a contest, and more of a tune-up, to a record-breaking 50th win.

Mayweather is a master at marketing himself

50-0 wont be a record, several fighters have surpassed that. Chavez was something like 87-0 before his first draw.

Floyd Mayweather has never robbed me. Mayweather got rich by fleecing people inordinate sums based on deception. It's a snakeskin trickster game and it's a shame that at 38 he is still getting away with it. Andre Berto PPV. And it will sell!
How is he fleecing people? What is the deception?
He fights in virtually the same masterful style in every fight.
Boxing fans and the general public can look up his opponent's records on Boxrec or watch prediction videos on YouTube and if they really care to be informed then they watch the opponent's previous fights.
Where's the fleecing? Where's the deception?
Floyd says he's TBE and he dismantles every opponent and beats them by wide margins almost every time.
The deception is that these are fights where the outcome is obvious. Why else would you call up Marquez 2 weight classes and still not make weight yourself? In all of these areas Floyd wants to be the boss. It is a deception to not fight on an even playing field. Sure people can be like us and know the history and the methods in the deception game, but most people do not. Most people do not understand 'money' and the marketing game that distorts. Most knew that Gatti had no chance, that Hatton was not a WW, that Baldomir was a fluke, that Ortiz was green and dumb, that Marquez was too small etc. Floyd does all of this knowing exactly what we know and what most are too busy to know about or are just too ignorant to even care. This Berto fight is another example of it. There is NO demand for this fight and yet here it is PPV because we all know exactly what is wrong with Andre Berto as we have taken the time to see all the flaws in the wins and the ensuing losses that come with it. It is a deception.
Boo Hoo! You're all just too busy or too dumb! HaHAHaHa. Give me a break! There's no deception.
If you don want to watch his fights then don't watch the fights Miles! Go watch some mid 90's Suede concerts or just wear your wife's bra around the house until the inevitable outcome of the fight and cry about for weeks after.
jeez, could u suck on floyds balls any harder??

49 and 0 wont be his last fight. Duplicating Marcianos record wont be enough. He will go for 50. And he could fight Taylor Swift and get 50 million. Then he retires. I bet he waits a year or so and then mimics Leonard by coming back. He will then make 100 million and even if he loses its does not matter. He tied and then beat Marcianos retirement record.

What he want's is to retire undefeated, no losses or draws - totally unblemished
Ricardo Lopez retired 51-0 but with a draw or two i think.

People are naive if they think the top fighters will fight each other after Floyd retires.

That's right. I thought Chris John was on track to get to Marciano first. It is the holy grail of boxing for whatever reason. It appears to be easily beaten when you see a guy like Wilder spin of 34 in a short time or Tyson fight 25 in a year or something but the catch is the retirement. Ask Joe Blow on the street or Jane Blow who Marciano is. Everyone knows who he is because of the 49/0. Its taught in history class early on this continent. They don't tell you about Young Stribling who fought 55 times in 1 year and went undefeated or Greb that went 47 or 49 in one year w/o a loss. And they certainly don't scrutinize Marciano's run.

Which makes beating the Marciano record - 50-0 - utterly meaningless. Chavez, Pep and Benvenuti all smashed that number but didn't retire.

We currently have the outstanding Chocolatito Gonzalez at 43-0 and the not so outstanding Cesar Cuenca at 48-0. It's a record that can easily be trumped.

Joe Calzaghe could come out of retirement to beat it.

I think just because it's "Floyd" loads will be made of this when he gets to 49-0 / 50-0 which im sure Floyd himself will ram down our throats

It's just a tune up fight for the Pacquiao rematch next year and Floyd is being touted at an 80:1 favourite already which just proves what a miss match this is.

Berto has lost 3 of his last 6 and is ranked 22nd in the world (one beneath Frankie Gavin) and has absolutely no chance at all, however like i said earlier i expect this to be free in the UK and Europe so he has a huge platform then look amazing against a shit fighter and drum up new fans for another mega let down fight on PPV with Pacquiao in 2016.

It's all about Business at this stage of Floyds career unfortunately and the $$$ he can make while he's still fighting.

I'd be amazed if Floyd doesn't go for a knockout win against Berto

A Seasoned world champion like Floyd should not be allowed to cherry pick a spent fighter ranked number 22 in the world - this is what i can't get my head around.... the fact that he is allowed to do this

I very well might but the undergrad will be important on this one. I'm not a flomo, in no way do I expect to see Floyd lose and I don't give a Shit about his bling but I do like to watch him box. Getting a Floyd fight for me is being one with Rocco.

Finito retired at 51-0 so I don't know what record Marciano holds that people keep talking about?
