I agree with Floyd that he is likely the #1 of all time, but I think the rest of his list was shit, yeah.
I didn't even agree with his reasoning for why he was the #1, even though I think he is the #1.
Beaten more world champs than anyone... that's because there are about 10 "champs" in each division now a days.
Floyd is a genius in the ring but borderline retarded outside of it I think.
David Lemieux = Future MW Champ and P4P King
Floyd needs no choreographer in the ring but he needs Bob Fosse outside it. He actually belittled himself by his choices for the list who he picked off said list and who he left off it. He feeds the hysteria even if he wasn't serious.
Thee end.
Floyd also left Ray Robinson off the list as a deliberate slight. Its an attempt to distance himself from the fighter people have him in constant competition with for the best ever title. A tad petty, but look who we're talking about here. He based his number #1 selection is based off of earnings and beating more champions. Like I said before, some of the accolades hes boasting about are him being a beneficiary of the time hes fighting in.
They want your @$$ beat because upsets make news. News brings about excitement, excitement brings about ratings. The objective is to bring you up to the tower and tear your @$$ down. And if you don't believe that, you're crazy.

I don't TBE lists are appropriate anymore. Its really all about era's. Fight game has changed so much its near impossible to compare guys who fought 100+ fights a fight every 2 weeks, against guys who fight was less frequent and maybe get 50 fights. Add in 15+ round fighters. Also that pool of fighters was good but he only had 10 to choose from....and guess what he picked mostly the more recent options. My top five out of those would be:
1: SRR
2: Mohammed Ali
3: Mayweather
4: Armstrong
5: Duran/JCC
List leaves out guys like Monzon, Sanchez, Langford, Hopkins, Hagler...any of those could easily be 3-5.
Floyd never struck me as a ring historian anyway or someone who watched long hours of footage of ATGs during his rise. I take his list with a grain of salt....
Duran would annihilate a NON PUNCHER like Floyd.
Unless I've missed it, I'm really surprised there's virtually no mention anywhere of Sugar Ray Leonard, yet lots of Duran.
Adrian Broner is poised to and most likely will be calling himself a "FOUR" division champion by years end. Does anyone in there right mind think he remotely compares to a Jones Jr, Hearns or Whitaker as far as ring/ big fight accomplishment We live in the era of everybody gets a star championships and trinkets. The things should come falling out of gum ball machines now.
