If you are not yet familiar with the term white privilege, here's your introduction to it On May 17, 2015 in Waco, Texas, 170 people were arrested after a shootout/brawl in which nine people died and 20 were seriously injured. The story took over the news and was covered in an endless loop for days.

Every single person who was arrested has been released.

Not one person has been charged with murder.

This, ladies and gentlemen, is the epitome of white privilege.

Of the 135 people originally ordered to wear GPS ankle monitors, all but 22 have been allowed to remove them. Their lawyers have reached agreements with prosecutors to modify the conditions of their pre-trial release.

Let's now replace these men, who killed nine people just a few months ago, up against Kalief Browder, an African-American who was arrested for stealing a man's backpack.

Browder languished in Rikers Island Penitentiary for three years without ever being charged with a crime. Brutalized throughout his time there, he committed suicide in the months after his release.

Or let's consider Bobby Reed, who is serving a life sentence in prison for his first offense, a non-violent drug crime. Reed was featured in the Vice documentary on prison reform, and his story begins just about a minute into the documentary.

I think most people realise that America has deep set issues with race. I think it was Don King that referred to the black man as American Jew. There is some truth to that with the ghetto's and incarceration. Or maybe akin to a Palestinian living under the Jewish occupation. Either way, I agree. It isn't cool.

There is no question that anglo-saxons in America and elsewhere to have more money and more accessibility to higher quality legal representation. Not only that they have more connections to the well connected lawyers and attorneys in prosecutors than poor blacks would who live in the ghetto.

There is also no doubt that any jury which is made up of predominately Anglo Saxons would most likely unfavorably view a black person on trial in a way that would lead to perhaps unbalanced conclusions about whether or not that person committed a crime worthy of severe punishment. Whereas a white person on trial with an all white jury may receive a bit more leniency on a subconscious or unconscious level from the jury.

Reminds me of when a Vietnamese in Wisconsin shot about 5 or six whites -claimed self defense, because they all had guns, were drunk & threatened him...Yet they were all buried like within a day to prevent autopsy showing if/ how much alcohol consumed. As testimony stated they weren't drunk & get this--claimed only 1 or 2 were armed. Really? How does a group of people go hunting -with only 2 guns between the 1/2 dozen or so?

As for my African-American brethren- far too many times we put ourselves out there by stealing shit to begin with. We got enough problems being black. But to steal or harm then cry because death by gun was the solution is contradictory at best. Let us cry for justice when a black man is shot without provocation or breaking any law.

The Kalief Browders of the world place themselves in life or death situations by the actions of theft. Petty as it, was the ni%$3uh fucked up. No a backpack isn't worth death, but stealing isn't our last resort. It is a choice that has dire consequences.

What kind of records did they have big d. If they had long records you tend to get screwed for any offense. Don't know if that's the case here, just asking. The Waco Texas thing was the government fucking up against biker gangs I believe. I remember People being loaded no one was charged but the government screw up the investigation. They went in heavy handed but I don't know the specifics of the case. I don't know if they could prove who did once as I think the Gov hid video to hide Shit they did. Need to refresh myself on the story. If people kill, I think they should be punished I don't give a he'll what their color is. Me too. I understand Dennison's position. I'd in fact feel quite similar if I were in his shoes. But one thing that I hope I would be different in is that when others outside of my race try to reach out to me to assist me or to at least understand me and they do it with sincerity I do not think that I would simply shoot them back down and say that they were only trying to appease him or that they were only trying to patronize him. That is what I don't like about Denilson and people who subscribe to his version of rigid inflexible and unwilling to cooperate kind of perspective on this issue. Because if they are not willing to meet people halfway to at least try to begin to build a bridge then why should we go and try to meet them three quarters of the way or even all the way. ? They are trying to place upon us and boy I hate generalizing "us" because we are not all anglo-saxons who are the the ancestors of the slave owners but they are trying to put upon us the collective guilt of everything that the most evil anglo-saxon slave owners and murderers did over the past four hundred years and that is simply not fair not to mention completely unrealistic . It is some kind of sick and archaic method similar to the Old Testament in the Bible of cursing The Descendants for three or four hundred years out into the future for the crimes that their great great grandparents committed . It is absolutely preposterous. They are basically either advocating complete segregation for complete surrender and both of those are ridiculous ideas which can send you in a way a kind of impending great showdown or battle and I prefer to solve things peacefully and not with this war like language and threats periods No those people will say when I say those people I mean those inflexible kind of unwilling to cooperate people they will say that they are constantly under threat so why should they not turn around and threaten who they perceive to be the great enemy. Well I guess I understand that too and I might feel the same way if I were in their shoes as well. But it really would be good if there was a way just sort of try to work on things together. Since he is precluding any of that due to his complete lack of trust then the other party there is really no end game or solution except what I mentioned earlier. And that is what I view as the severe limitation , the turn off in trying to deal with people who take such an extreme and rigid view.
