I don't get your point that... He's not on Groves level at supermiddle?

Abraham is one of the top supermiddles in the world. The Ring have him ranked no.1 (personally I think DeGale is no.1 but I understand the ranking). In Murray's last fight he lost a close decision against him.

Groves was sparked by Froch and lost a close decision against Jack. I don't see the superior level Groves has fought at that makes Murray not worthy to share a ring with him, and if I bring the middleweights in, then Murray has fought better opposition than Groves.

I don't care about what money they would earn, or what they gain from it, i'm just interested in good matchups. I think it's a good fight.

well he isn't. You wax lyrical about Murray's near misses, but dismiss Groves's . Froch KO'd Groves , but you could say that in 17 rounds, Froch only won about 5. But anyway, forget about the past, in the here and now, who has Murray beat at SMW in the top 100?
Yeah , Murray went 11 rounds with GGG, So what? He lost 11 rounds.

well of the 2 you mentioned, I reckon he'd beat Abraham, and he's already beat DeGale (as you say, FACT.)

If he's such a great MW, why isn't he still a MW? Because he fell just short, and that's exactly what's happening at SMW. You could say the same about Groves, but Groves is rated higher than Murray and will get his next shot quicker.
What is wrong with Murray v Feigenbutz or Buglioni? By the end of the year, Groves will be fighting Abraham or De Carolis, and I happen to think he beats both fair
    Y comfortably.

well THEY care what money they earn and I reckon Groves/Abraham is a good match up, I also think Groves/Callum Smith is a good match up. And I think Murray/Buglioni and Murray/Feigenbutz are good match ups.

    1. Waxing lyrical about Murray's losses is stretching it a bit. I merely said he held his own in elite world-class, as did Groves until Froch put him to sleep.

    2. Groves may very well beat Abraham but he hasn't beat a fighter of that level yet either - again, DeGale was a 10 fight novice and many believe Groves lost the fight. The only "elite" fighters Groves has faced since then have beat him.

    3. I never said Murray was a great middleweight, only that he operated at the highest level. Fighters move up in weight all the time, the ones that have mixed it at the highest level obviously get fast tracked into the new division.

    4. I agree with all your matchups. They're all good fights like Murray-Groves.

I just think they're fish in slightly different ponds, but we'll agree to differ.

Sauerland/Groves Protest Smith-Mohoumadi WBC Eliminator - Boxing News
Now, this is what I'm talking about! Smith v Groves would be an absolute cracker, and Groves sounds like he fancies the job, and I know Callum Smith does.
Tbf, the WBC aren't going to change their mind , and in a way rightly so. The Mohoumadi fight has been an open secret for a while now, and Groves/Sauerland are only just starting to put their pitch in now, which is too late really. No doubt Groves v Smith is a bigger and better fight, but they should've complained ages ago , when it was first touted.
In a way I hope Groves/Smith doesn't come off , because I think they are both going to be big noises in the current division. Very good matchup though, one of those that I'm gonna keep changing my mind on who wins.

Groves looked really good. The jab was awesome and he worked everything off it. I'd like to see Groves more active and another fight or two under his new trainer against fringe contenders before trying to tackle the top guys again.

Some great talent in the country around this weight and many good fights could be made.
