The irony through this entire waste of time and all the fronting and posing is that Alvarez never needed the freakin thing.
Of course, it was nice to have but not necessary... because when push came to shove, its all about money. He dropped the belt because if this goes to a bid GGG automatically gets 45%.. So they drop the belt and try to negotiate, strictly based on PPV and will try to get team GGG to take 30%
They want your @$$ beat because upsets make news. News brings about excitement, excitement brings about ratings. The objective is to bring you up to the tower and tear your @$$ down. And if you don't believe that, you're crazy.

So it is a tactical and technical move to give him more time to negotiate a better deal? If they fight then I beleive him.

Andrade would dominate Canelo, the twins would beat him now too. A couple other fighters have a shot at beating Canelo at 154 too and he would be about 4th-6th at best at MW. Let GGG finally get all the belts so he can move on to a division worthy of him. MW has sucked for 8/10 of its history. Most overrated division ever.(maybe HW is more overrated historically but it seems like many are willing to admit HW usually sucks where as MW usually sucks and it doesn't get called on sucking)

I mostly agree with this, although I'd give Canelo a small chance against those guys. No idea how he would deal with Andrades jab(one of the best in the sport) though.

Canelo has wins over Trout and Lara who are the top of the division so i do not see how he can be lower that just seems like you are hating on the dude. I am not happy about the fight now happening but to say he not top guy when he beat the best at 154 kinda funny.

Do you know what would serve him right, if the boxing commissions went back to same day weigh in. In those days some guys were dehydrated but turned in some performances. We should never go backwards but I know for a fact that Canelo would not have the strength to perform like the all time greats that led us into this era and they were the experiment that proved the day after weigh in was healthier. Prima donas like Canelo exploited the theories behind homeostasis which is the ideal relaxed state after training as in body weight and the reason you fight well under your weight class is because this is supposed to be your comfort zone, the weight you should be. Alvarez wants GGG and any other middleweight to voluntarily be anything but a fit guy for his class.

I'm wondering what his thoughts are about Canelita getting arrested in North Carolina for using the men's bathroom.
