Thread: Name an All-Time fighter whom you would want to be in this current era?

From a pure boxing perspective.

Roberto Duran - Just being able to be a complete badass. Perfect combination of ring tactician and brawling skills. I'd steamroll through this current crop of fighters.....rule the boxing world for years.

I've always liked kid gavilan. He is a step below an elite ATG but is a very good fighter. he is also exciting. Great chin, good hand speed, and a good punch. I would love for him to clean out this WW division.

Marciano so he could clean the clocks of any LHW and cruiser.

I bet Armando Munoz would like to be fighting today.

A young George Foreman to wipe that smile off those heavyweight pretenders. Bob Foster would straighten out most light heavyweights with his skinny frame. Roberto Duran would inspire those too lazy to train to be fit for combat. A prime Jose Napoles would make Sugar Ray Leonard think he was out of shape. Willy Pep would box circles around most featherweights though he was not known as a big puncher. Pernell Whitaker for those impossible defensive moves for a five foot four welterweight. Howard Davis would have been excellent if he wasn't a vegetarian. Most champions are carnivorous.

Billy Conn would win every title from welter to cruiser.

Ray Robinson, because then we would never have heard of Floyd Mayweather

Tyson to blast these babies like Fury, Joshua and Wilder.

1995 SMW RJJ plays charity basketball with LeBron James before pot shotting Jack, Degale or Dirrell.

RJJ IMO wasn't that skilled. It was his God given talent that would make this era look bad.
His power was truly the result of his hand speed/release.
Thus his reflexes...

Bring back McCallum and show Canelo how great jr middles can move up, challenge themselves, and even after a defeat be a great middleweight. At 32..not 25. Maybe they'd even get together and the Bodysnatcher could whip his arse.

Pryor for the sheer chaos, sure all time or opportunity-at was in effect denied and as fierce as he was he wasn't perfect. But can you picture him walking into the house of 140 one night and most shitting themselves. Laundromat owners rejoice .

I could see Duran chase Floyd from lightweight to welterweight if he had the focus and fury to do it.

I think bhop would be GGGs kryptonite. Awkward style that would throw him off. I would love to see a haglar fight though. GGG would have to outbox him because no way he is hurting haglar.

Aaron Pryor vs Adrian Broner would have been very fun to watch.
