    Default 2016: Halfway Mark.

    Vargas vs Salido
    Thurman vs Porter
    Martinez vs Santa Cruz
    Crawford vs Lundy
    Kovalev vs Pascal
    David Lemieux vs Glen Tapia
    Canelo vs Khan
    Anthony Durrell vs Caleb Traeux
    Krzysztof Glowacki vs Steve Cunningham
    Pacquiao vs Bradley
Jesus Soto Karass vs Yoshihiro Kamegai
    Broner vs Theophane
    Jermall Charllo vs Trout
    Wilder vs Szpilka
    Jermell Charllo vs Jackson

Great year so far. High profile fights as usual don't live up to its hype.
I like Salido Vargas inside fight- crispy phonebooth exchanges, whereas Porter was just wild as hell with his aggression against Thurman. Still good stuff and a high profile fight.

Martinez Cruz and Crawford Lundy were great IMO as well.

Kovalev Pascal was more or less a clinic, while Cunningham loss was a testimony to a fighter's will being greater than his chin.
PAC isn't the same aggressive fighter, so his win over Bradley was just decent.

    Great 2016 so far!!!!!!!!!

Great observations. My biggest issue (not to be the bucket of cold water) is its like an election year in boxing. we benefit by having good fights made because everyone's promoter is pushing them to be the next star attraction now that Floyd and Manny have hung it up. The guy that had that accolade fall into his lap, just gave up a title instead, signed to liam smith, and is dragging his feet because he feels he has the prestige already in the bag. I wonder how bad the taper off will be next year once the landscape/star power pecking order has settled
They want your @$$ beat because upsets make news. News brings about excitement, excitement brings about ratings. The objective is to bring you up to the tower and tear your @$$ down. And if you don't believe that, you're crazy.

Hey I'll take good fights any way we can get em!
Kovalev Ward is the best way to cap the year.

I doubt Furious Klit II will be great.

Very true. I have this feeling Furys gonna phone this in. I think he's got the "Itis" (the non racially charged version of the term, of course-- just referring to the lethargy) - he got fat off a victory (with associated checks, royalties, endorsement deals) and now he's just milking it as much as possible to see if can parle it into something cushy without having to fight. As is the trend now with a lot of fighters since floyd started this public bickering over money and that's probably why historically, the level of action as gone down and the level of whining as gone up. Like floyd's multiple retirements, wards litigation spell, mikey garcia's contract hold out and canelos duck.

That's why everyone appreciates those throw back fights and throw back fighters. Hopefully thurman/ porter marks the year and sets a new trend in motion.

I agree Kov v ward will be the most intriguing fight of the year.
