Default Have you ever cracked your back?

I was researching ways to relieve pinched nerves and I came across this terrifying video full of cracked backs and decapitations. Some of them are really difficult to watch as you can only imagine the head coming off with the sounds and movements being produced.

Have any of you ever done anything like this?

Have you done it before? It looks terrifying, but the people undergoing it seem quite relaxed. They say it feels quite pleasant. I'm tempted to give it a go for my nerve pain.

I have yeah, my neck was bugging me for a while years ago. Started to get a bit painful and spread to my shoulders and made it hard to sleep etc, likely a minor pinched nerve or something. The chiro was covered through my work at the time so I wen't a few times. Had my neck adjusted twice and they did some laser treatment, all felt fine and even enjoyable as you say and did help right away. You wouldn't think it's possible to have that many things crack in your neck at once without some discomfort, and I have heard it can do harm if they do it wrong or it's not the right call, which makes sense.

Not an expert and I haven't had any serious problems related, but I feel like good posture and training the muscles involved can do a lot to keep it at bay, assuming you don't have some serious nerve problem. Try just hanging from a bar for as long as you can keeping completely straight, work your core muscles, don't slouch in general, yada yada.

That looks painful and if you get it wrong could you break someones neck?

    Scary.

Tyson said he broke his back and I thought that was impossible and carry on boxing, maybe that is what he meant.

It sounds pretty amazing when you hear it like that. You watch the videos and wince but everyone looks so content and you hear positive accounts like p4p above. I might give it a shot if the docs suggest it.

You can crack it through or break it vertically, even knock off one of the lumps off the back of the cog Like I did and still walk around but a horizontal break probably going to sever or damage your spinal cord.
