Crawford needs to move up already but can see Arum ushering in a mega Manny event with ease hoping to spring board Crawford.
Arum will want whatever PPV stardust Manny has left to be transferred to Crawford. If Crawford wins it's not going to make him a star the way Manny beating Oscar made him a star but it's the best thing Arum has got going right now. Only question is does Arum make Manny-Vargas first,

Knowing Arum yes, he will milk Manny until he will lose to Crawford.

That would make perfect sense with Manny being number one for Vargas trinket. Also noticed Vargas oddly placed on stage during Crawford-Postol weigh in. Honestly think he is just warming it for either Manny or Crawford and it will be one of them. Would make perfect scenario and long overdue jump to welter for Crawford and if I had a criticism of Crawford in late rounds vs Postol it's that he looked like a man who knew something much larger was waiting. Look good today great tomorrow kind of thing. Then again the way Manny is on and off again coming back or going..why take chance his mind will change just fighting a Vargas when iron is hot to strike on Crawford v Manny right now.

I agree about being left in lurches. Manny has never liked intelligent movement. Manny has always been off balance and balance does not improve with age. Really the only question is, is Crawford who we think he is. If he is Manny would be in deep.

But I still doubt it comes off. Vargas suits Manny much better so until it is confirmed I assume it will be Vargas.
Man, that guy ^ is like a damn profit

Manny Pacquiao: Jessie Vargas named as opponent for 5 November bout

Manny Pacquiao will return to the ring on 5 November against American WBO welterweight champion Jessie Vargas.

Former eight-division world champion Pacquiao, 37, had announced his retirement after beating Timothy Bradley in April.

But his promoter Bob Arum said last month that the Filipino boxer would fight again this year.

"Retirement doesn't suit Manny right now," Pacquiao's manager Michael Koncz told the Los Angeles Times.

"Boxing is in his blood. When he trains, it's like a pressure-release valve. You can see a dramatic difference in his mood... he's happy.

"It's amazing what training and fighting does for him."

Pacquiao and his team will meet on 10 August in Manila to discuss whether the bout against 27-year-old Vargas should be staged in Los Angeles or Dubai.

"That's the essence of the meeting," Koncz added. "Not choosing the opponent. That's already been done."

Pacquiao's unanimous decision win over Bradley was his first fight in nearly a year, following his much-publicised defeat by Floyd Mayweather.

He had said he was ending his boxing career to concentrate on politics. Pacquiao won election to the Philippines' senate in May.

Vargas won his belt in March against compatriot Sadam Ali and has won 10 of his bouts via a knockout or stoppage, with his only defeat coming in a points loss against Bradley last year.

Pac could never beat JMM clearly before getting knocked the fuck out and lost every single round against Mayweather i do not think this is a good fight for him. Crawford style is pretty fucking elusive and he seems to have some power in those shots going to watch it anyway but might be a blow out.
