I'm off work all this week, I'm not ashamed at all...in fact I couldn't give a damn if I never went back again.
If I didn't need the money I would quite happily sit at home for the rest of my life
Me too. Fuck work.
I think that may come from relationships we build at work. My job is a bit dangerous due to heights we work and machinery we work worth. I only have one coworker on my shift who does what we do so if we do take time off it leaves the other guy with two buildings and 500,000 square feet to cover. It can be a daunting task. On the other hand we do need breaks to stay fresh. I'm just saying when you look at statistics there is reason behind the. It's not for the company I work for but my co worker, and @denilson200 he ain't even white
I have a couple 20ish girls working kennels that wouldn't know the meaning of ashamed. Or work
Also everyone works uber type jobs these days so they don't have vacation time
Which is really not a good thing. In the 1960's scientists were telling us how great the future would be because of technology and how people would be working 3 day working weeks. Instead there are not enough well paying jobs and people find themselves juggling extra jobs just to survive. Not only that, but there are no pensions and job security is almost non-existent and people are shipped in from overseas who will work for less as the minimum wage in the west is 5 times more than where they came from. It is a very rigged system. Someone was telling me that few of the taxi drivers in the UK are British anymore. That is such an odd thing. You see it in hotels too. There are no British people working there on the desks.
I was making $525-625 per week from 1990 to about 2007 on regular customer service/clerical/office jobs.
Those same unskilled jobs (all you need to do is type 50 wpm and use a computer) now pay $375-500 per week.
It is about balance, but the scales have tipped too far. Not working is damaging, but on the flipside, you have people juggling 3 jobs just trying to do the 'right thing'. Then you have corporate executives earning money that is just not justified and others watching TV all day on welfare. It is all about balance and there is little balance.
3 days a week is plenty. It then gives the person time to raise their family and educate themselves which seem to be missing elements in Western societies these days. The problem with that though is that strong families, knowledge and awareness is a threat to the system and must never be allowed.
