OK I'm going to try out this new system and see how it goes
Training this last week has been ok but not great.
Only 3 runs for the week and 4 night sessions.
Had Judo Monday and Wednesday, Boxing Tuesday and Thursday.
Took Friday off as didn't feel great. I started to get a tight neck at boxing on Thursday night and wanted to stretch before I started training but Kristine had already started training when i got there so i felt obligated to get started ASAP.
Friday my body hated me. Took Saturday off since kristine wasn't opening the gym to train anyway and I still felt a bit under the weather.
Sunday an old jogging buddy from the country came up to visit me. We took turns pushing her pram while jogging for 45 mins together which I thoroughly enjoyed.
Judo is still going really well but It's making the platue I'm facing at boxing more clear. I want to learn more than I am and I'm not sure what my mental block is. Something to think about!

Monday morning - did 5 km treadmill run at a moderate pace, then weights, then 20 min swim.
Didn't go to judo. Had a family dinner instead only to be asked by my bro why I wasn't at Judo and he's the coach so he can do what he likes apparently!

Tuesday morning - 30 min jog. Found my legs were a bit stiff and my strides a bit short. Loosened up over time. My strides were short but it felt different to the way it does when my back is out. I'm pretty sure it's just a matter of getting my legs used to running again and not changing my form too much on the treadmill.
Decided to alternate gym mornings with jog mornings from now on to let myself recover a little mroe effectively and it seems to be working.
Tuesday night - The guys were using the ring because we thought one of them might be fighting on the weekend and they were pushing him.
Kristine and I warmed up with skipping, shadow and then did pad work. I also did a bit extra bag work afterwards. We're both trying to improve our movement at the moment. It's proving tricky but sometimes we get it right!
Wednesday morning - did same morning session as on Monday.
Wednesday night - Judo. The coach decided to give us a pretty intense warm up! We had to pair up and do a lot of exercises like squats with someone on our back and pushups facing each other and clapping. Overall it was pretty good. I felt it in my quads the most.
I did need an intese warm up since the weather here has changed pretty dramatically lately and while cycling to Judo I got caught not only in the rain but the HAIL! Good thing I wear a helmet!
We went over a few basic things and I guess my understanding is improving. One of the coaches said I can start randoori (Judo sparring) soon and I might be able to do randoori groundwork now with her!
I have a feeling my brother might have mentioned the fact I'm most interested in that since it came up in discussion on Monday night.
Thursday morning - 40 min run
Thursday night - Boxing training. Warmed up with skipping (with sprints), footwork and shadow. Then I did pad work with coach Paul. Still working on movement. It is pretty high energy and 4 rounds was enough for me to feel it! I like it though - I feel like I'm learning something!
Then I did 4 rounds on the bag and four rounds on the floor to cieling ball and one round of shadow. All were trying to practice the movement I've been going through with Paul and Kristine. All rounds were 3 mins with 2 min break.
Friday Morning - 1 km warm up on the treadmill followed by 10 X 200m sprints. I'm just hopping over to the side of the treadmill and waiting for my heart rate to go down into the 150s before I do the next repeat. It saves messing around with the buttons!
Then did my weights and swim. Swim was without fins - a warm up then 4 sets of medley order (butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke and freestyle) sprints. 30 m sprints with 10 seconds recovery plus 40 secs between each set.
