Totalitarianism

Its local election time here in Korea which means there is fierce competition as to who can make the most noise between the bongo truck onion sellers and the dumbass propaganda trucks. Close all the windows and just turn up the music. Nothing else you can do really.

I had a fun day yesterday which I mentioned on the hidden board. I had my second sick day in 18 months and was told that I would lose a days wages because of it. This is final warning time for this school. Any other threat to violate my contract and I walk. I dont think they would be stupid enough to actually carry out their threat. It shouldnt have been said in the first place though. Very immature. I dont like being messed around and the job needs me a lot more than I need it. I like my job and it affords me the freedom to work only 3 days a week (very long days though and ones which run late into the evening) but I wont tolerate too many silly games.Thats the thing with Korea. A lot of focus upon English education but not enough people actually skilled enough to teach it well. My wife has more chance of being unemployed than me and this is her country!!

Spring is here and the weather is remarkably clear and bright. The park is calling me. Fresh air will be good for the voice and it might be less noisy than here. It will be also proffer the chance to get some reading done.
