Agenda
I think I need to exercise more. In general I am pretty healthy. I dont have issues with weight, dont drive and go everywhere by foot. But Ive been sick all week and its never taken this long to get better. Im much improved but am coughing way too much and the tonsils still look fiery. Since getting 40kg's of food shipped over from the UK I have been gorging on snacks and chocolates something rotten. I have gone through a 48 box of Rolo's in less than a month and thats just the Rolo's. Thats really not a very healthy thing to do.
So Im going to try and start afresh and try and treat the body with the respect it deserves. First of all I am going to try and cut out drinking for an entire month. The Korean beer tends to give me the most frightful hangovers and I cannot deal with that anymore. Next up is the diet. Im really going to ration the stocks I have and try to eat no more than a chocolate bar every day or other day. Nothing wrong with junk food but it needs to be part of a balanced diet. No point swilling in gluttony just because you can. I have an exercise bike that I have seldom used. Im going to start simple and just try and cycle a few km every day and build up bit by bit. My main problem with the bike is that I find the process of cycling so boring. I have a set of dumbells that Im going to set into use and try and get my skinny arms toned up with. And a few situps every day to complete my new regime. Oh, and Im going to try and get up at the same time everyday no matter what. I must get my sleeping habits sorted out because that has been a problem for a long while.
Ive been told that once you hit 30, the body will begin to tell you in subtle and not so subtle ways of all the ways you abused it throughout your 20's. So I really should stop indulging in wanton self destruction whilst Im still able to.
I shall try

| | I feel the same as you man.. All those issues i'm dealing with at the moment... My exercise bike has been majorly neglected over the past couple of months.. It makes a great clothes hanger to keep them off the floor, but it's definetly not what I bought it for.. What I do to pass the time on the exercise bike is watch and episode of Entourage or Supernatural that i've downloaded... You could buy a box set of your favourite tv show and just chuck it on, and cycle for one episode... I find if I DON'T watch something while i'm cycling, i'm bored without 5 minutes MAX... If you've got something good to watch, it can easily distract you, and it's almost a relaxing theraputic time watching your favourite tv show.. WHILE getting fit.. Anyway, keep at it! Getting fit and keeping healthy is definetly not the easiest route.. Otherwise everyone would be fit and healthy.. But we're tough guys on here! Good luck! |

| | Cheers, for the tips. A good idea about watching a show while cycling. Something lasting about 30 minutes would be ideal. I tried cycling while watching BBC world news (I dont get a lot of good English tv channels out here!) one time but it was so depressingly boring that I gave up. A 30 minute show gives you something to aim for I guess. Ive never given up beer for a month so we'll see how that one goes!! You can only try, I guess. |

| | Good stuff guys, I'm also a proponent of the home training route. I've got a rowing machine, bike, dumbells and bench all crammed into a one bedroom flat! I'm going to start getting back into it tomorrow. |

| | Thats a lot of stuff, Bilbo! I did just 5 minutes with the dumbells today and 5km on the bike. Pathetic really but at least it was something and something is always better than nothing. Will aim for a little more tomorrow. |
