OK I'm going to try out this new system and see how it goes

Training this last week has been ok but not great.

Only 3 runs for the week and 4 night sessions.

Had Judo Monday and Wednesday, Boxing Tuesday and Thursday.

Took Friday off as didn't feel great. I started to get a tight neck at boxing on Thursday night and wanted to stretch before I started training but Kristine had already started training when i got there so i felt obligated to get started ASAP.

Friday my body hated me. Took Saturday off since kristine wasn't opening the gym to train anyway and I still felt a bit under the weather.

Sunday an old jogging buddy from the country came up to visit me. We took turns pushing her pram while jogging for 45 mins together which I thoroughly enjoyed.

Judo is still going really well but It's making the platue I'm facing at boxing more clear. I want to learn more than I am and I'm not sure what my mental block is. Something to think about!

Crap training

OK uni has been insanely busy - I've camped out there overnight twice just trying to get through my work so training has been pretty poor.

I can't honestly remember what i've done but basically i've only had about 4 boxing sessions and 4 runs and no weight training or swimming at all for the past 2 weeks!

the busy period is still ongoing but not quite as mad now though so hopefully I'll be able to get some half normal training in.

Yesterday (Friday) night was great. It was Anzac day here so the gym was closed but Kristine opened up (she has keys) and a few other people noticed ad turned up to train too.

One of them was a guy who fought in our gym 2 years ago and won the Australian light heavyweight amateur title. Kristine and I sparred and when we were done he took me through some pad work.

It was great. I knew I was working on things other people had not explained to me properly which I should know.

Perhaps other people have tried but I didn't understand the way they explained it. Kristine got tape of our sparring and my padwork.

I can see a HUGE difference in the amount of pop in my punches and footwork etc when doing padwork with Sam.

I hope that i can keep up what he taught me now and I hope he comes back in more often because it helped so much!

There is often debate on the forum RE whether or not the coach makes a big difference - I have to say looking at how much better things looked with him giving me a few pointers a good coach can make ALL the difference!
