I think I'm becoming............a nerd

Posted Yesterday at 10:14 AM by Missy
I always suspected that I had inherent nerdy qualities. I like sci-fi, horror and trashy kitsch tv. I've been to get places where people have dressed up as their favourite Star Trek character. Whilst I chuckled that they're all a bunch of Saddos, it always looked to be a whole lot of fun. To have that lack of self consciousness to care about looking a tit.

Escuela

Hey kids,

I actually started taking classes again yesterday. At 32 and being the second oldest person in my class, it kinda puts things in perspective. I plan on getting a degree in Web Development, I hope the internet is still around when I graduate.
I know this is less than exciting for most of you, but I feel like I am starting a new chapter in my life.

Best,

Greg

Feeding the wolves

April 8, 2008

It wasn’t the usual hype that often characterizes an asian-latino antagonism in this sports; the usual hype that guarantees a massive sell-out. This one was worse than that. Drawing in to the core of the campaign a false sense of national pride and esteem, the promoters have successfully spelled the commercial success of the fight. A predetermined success that will keep boxing...

The Sting, Part Two

Posted 08-11-2008 at 01:49 AM by Kirkland Laing
Baghdad, Iraq(CNN) -- A member of the Dawa terrorist organisation sentenced to death in Kuwait for the 1983 bombings of the U.S. and French embassies now sits in Iraq's parliament as a member of Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki's ruling coalition, according to U.S. military intelligence.

Jamal Jafaar Mohammed's seat in parliament gives him immunity from prosecution. Washington says he supports Shiite insurgents and acts as an Iranian agent in Iraq.

The Sting, Part One

Posted 08-11-2008 at 01:42 AM by Kirkland Laing
Former Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neill has revealed in a new book that the Bush administration began high-level discussions of invading and conquering Iraq as soon as Bush entered the White House in January 2001.

O'Neill's description of the events is not only convincing, it is fully documented. He gave extensive interviews to the book's author, former Wall Street Journal reporter Ron Suskind, and provided Suskind with 19,000 pages of documents from his two years in office, as well...

An ungrateful volcano

The Iraqi officer leading a U.S.-financed anti-jihadist group is in no mood for small talk -- either the military gives him more money or he will pack his bags and rejoin the ranks of al-Qaeda.

"I'll go back to al-Qaeda if you stop backing the Sahwa (Awakening) groups," Col. Satar tells U.S. Lt. Matthew McKernon, as he tries to secure more funding for his men to help battle the anti-U.S. insurgents.

Most members of the Awakening groups are Sunni Arab...
