Boxing glove weight
Right now I use 16 oz. gloves to train, when I hit the bag and mitts. But I was wondering if it would be better to invest in some 10 oz. gloves since that is what I will use for competition. I read somewhere that using heavier gloves gets you used to the heavier wieght, making you a faster and stronger puncher when you put the lighter ones on. Is there any truth to that?

Re: Boxing glove weight
Yeah id say get heavier bag and sparring gloves. Youll fly like the wind once you throw those 10 oz on.

Re: Boxing glove weight
I use 16's on the bag and 16's to spar, but use nothing to do speed bag work...not even wraps.
One time for the hell of it I tried using 8's for some mit work and hated them because they were so light.
