Until George Foreman knocked out Michael Moore in 1994, Jersey Joe Walcott had the record for the oldest heavyweight champion in the history of boxing at the ripe old age of 37 when he knocked out as a Charles for the title in 1951
Jersey Joe Walcott held the record for 43 years!

A lot of James Toney's moves were taken from Walcott.

I never thought about that and I didn't realize it but now I will have to take a look at his fights again and see how he took it from walcott I think definitely was a lot of those shoulder rolls just for starters

Toney has said it himself and you can see it from the way be boxed. He is the reincarnation of Walcott at middleweight. The way he beat Barkley was brutal but beautiful. An artist.
