Favourite Martial Arts Film
I love films like Hero and Crouching Tiger, what other great films are out there that are in that league.
-
re: Favourite Martial Arts Film
not in the same style but I do love a bit of Jackie Chan, Police Story and pretty much any of his films of that era.
-
re: Favourite Martial Arts Film
I have to watch Enter the dragon and Way of the dragon once every couple of years for a fix the same way I have to watch the Dirty Harry movies.

You must mean, Snake in the eagles shadow, that was when Chan was at his peak, that is my ultimate martial arts film.

you can watch Forbidden City Cop (how equally rubbish and great is that title) on youtube. some nice person has uploaded it in to about 14 parts. Been watching it this afternoon.
Equally happy to learn Kung Fu Hustle2 is being made, due out this year.

Enter the Dragon, Bloodsport and I thought Bruce Lee Story was quite good
First one I ever watched was Breaker Breaker with Chuck Norris and I thought that was awesome. Was only about 8 though so bet its dated very very badly.....
May check it out now as it's been 30 years:-\

Which is about the same length of time you have told anyone a funny joke.

re: Favourite Martial Arts Film
If Hero with Jet Li counts as a Martial Arts film that's the one.
The heck with limiting it to martial arts films. Hero is one of the best movies I've seen in the last decade.

Its widely known in martial arts circles that Chuck Norris killed Bruce Lee because he couldn't stand Bruce being better then him. ;)

re: Favourite Martial Arts Film
Musta be 'Karate Kid' then. If Hilary Swank spreads those legs then she's usually pissed, lol.

It has elements of the story of the monkey king but not like a film version of monkey.
How can any film with Jet Li and Jackie Chan in it fail?! I kept replaying the fights scenes. I think what's cool about it is that Jet Li has got such a serious screen personna, getting him to play that role just makes much more fun.

The Legend of the Condor Heroes-'82 version
Return of the Condor Heroes-'83 version
Heaven Sword and Dragon Sabre-'86 Version
Each of the trilogy comes with about 40 1 hour volumes or so. It's kind of obscure to western audiences. Fight scenes are in the style of Crouching Tiger, but it's more of the story that is the best part of the trilogy.

re: Favourite Martial Arts Film
I like Kiss of the Dragon, with Jet Li. Good fight scenes, and pretty good movie in general.

I really enjoyed "Best of the Best"

re: Favourite Martial Arts Film
Was watching IP Man the first 15 minutes were brilliant but the set top box did not record the rest of it.

re: Favourite Martial Arts Film
If you like 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon', you'll like 'House of Flying Daggers'. I liked that movie better than 'The Forbidden Kingdom.'
House of Flying Daggers
