Boxers on the Threshold for 2009.

I found this write up peculiar on one hand and a bookmark on the other. It does serve great purpose in the info it briing forth. It did not however, include a few of our "Prospect of the Year" picks, Saddo Fam, including mine in Daniel Jacobs. I can think of a few more boxers to include, that need be seen in '09, but everyone's two cents is more apt.
Re: Boxers on the Threshold for 2009.
Kevin Mitchell is my pick, I can see him causing trouble for a lot of the 130lbers
Re: Boxers on the Threshold for 2009.
I like his list minus Robert Guerrero whom I'm not impressed with and I think anyone with good skills will beat him.
Also BJ Flores good fighter but I don't think he's on the brink of exploding onto the scene. I think the Cruisers will be either all Adamek or all Jones.
Re: Boxers on the Threshold for 2009.
Pretty sharp list there.I would bet it all on Antillon realizing a huge showdown next year and doing well.Mandatory for the new WBC Champ Soto......Can you say Hotly contested battle,Or WAR!!Soto is much deeper in experience,I would like a little more diverse movement from Antillon but his offense is just great to watch...brutal and getting much better.
Valero....?Ok,I get it.He can knock down walls but I think his wide defense catches up to him eventually but who ever steps in better have a beard.
Agree with Mick on Flores.Decent skillset but alot to learn and honestly...He does not strike me as overly 'eager'.I think Jones and Adamek would at this stage do bad things to him.Over time he can develope nicely but needs activity ASAP.
Ortiz and Alvarado are beast's on the upswing.Alvarado showd some patience lastout, his uppercut is hellacious and he can turn it on fast.Ortiz has everything in exposure, backing and nice hands...both will be great to watch, very TV friendly.
Very glad Linares is back in the mix and adds yet another spark to a nice roster of guys at 130.But his problems with the injuries may keep him fight to fight a question mark?
09 just gets better and better;D

Im all for the golden child danny jacobs.. But for me his year is 2010 not 2009.. next year is definately a step up year and a experience year, but i dont see him bieng rushed into a world title fight.

He really looked good with that brief appearance in the undercard of the Dream Match. We should see more of him for 2009, to get his name out there a bit.
Re: Boxers on the Threshold for 2009.
You allready know I like Kirkland
The Mack/ Henry fight is going to be interesting as hell, because one of them is starting practically from scratch, and the other is going to be fast tracked, and their so similar, having scouted it pretty closely, your just going to have to watch it on ESPN2
Chazz Witherspoon could easily get over a DQ loss, and get himself right back in to the mix
Cruz from Puerto Rico even though he's got miles to go,2010 could be his year if he keeps busy
Re: Boxers on the Threshold for 2009.
Nice list.
It's time for Valero to fight top level opponents and be recognized.

I like to see Michael "Body Blow" Farenas. I read he was served another Thai, tomato can (Muay Thai) a few days ago, which he demolished inside three. Got to step it up tho'. JC Jr., but no Oscar dlH for an opponent please.
